The best fried chicken?
I am talking about national eateries, like if you drive for miles and have an urge to eat some fried chicken, which one place do you choose?

Aside from that, what is the best fried chicken you ever had, homemade or in restaurant?

By the way, all fried chicken lovers rejoice for this news!!!

The only beef I have about fried food, (actually is from my wife) is that the shortening that is used. Some stores only change the shortening once a week.

I think the neckbones in Ruby's BEPs were from a pig. It was a side-track in a chicken thread. I just remember Ruby watching me eat. She would load plate after plate until I could not eat another bite.

FTR, I am a midget with three hollow legs. Ruby was not the only person to marvel at the amount I could put away. I've been thrown out and barred from Chinese buffets. From what I understand, it's a metabolism thing or sumpm.

Some is better than others, but I don't think there's such a thing as bad fried chicken. Shit's even tasty a couple days later straight out of the fridge..

The best chicken I've had at a chain was from Los Pollos Hermanos. Man, that stuff was good. I just grabbed a four piece and soda value meal. The cashier kept going on and on about how I could get something good on the side but didn't really mention exactly what so I stuck with the combo. I guess they have their own proprietary drink called "Blue Sky" because the cashier was pushing that too but I wanted a grape drink. I can't get it out here in NorCal though. I stopped in during a trip through Nevada. I'm not sure what spices they use. I heard that the owner was from somewhere in South America so maybe it's Spanish?

Ok, we must have hung out together years ago. My vote would be Go Chicken Go, followed by Strouds. the wife and I did Strouds on Valentines day for dinner, good as ever. I hit Go Chicken Go for gizzards and hot sauce with that little square butter soaked bun and usually grab a two piece also. If you live in or near KC, and haven't tried it, try Go Chicken Go. They aren't generally in the best areas, but they are damn good

I'll also add that Ruby's was great. She would often come around and look at your plate when writing up your check. If you had a clean plate, your meal would be $6 or $7. If you left food on your plate, she'd charge you $8 or $9. heh

I always see people walking around downtown with Go Chicken Go boxes during lunch. Dont know where one is but gotta think its good if its that popular while not being a well known place.
