The best fried chicken?
I am talking about national eateries, like if you drive for miles and have an urge to eat some fried chicken, which one place do you choose?
Aside from that, what is the best fried chicken you ever had, homemade or in restaurant? By the way, all fried chicken lovers rejoice for this news!!! The only beef I have about fried food, (actually is from my wife) is that the shortening that is used. Some stores only change the shortening once a week. |

Rubys Soul Food in KC in the 80s and 90s man it was good. When we worked near that area it was a must eat. After that the original Strouds before it got torn down for the Little Blue Trace flood control project. Strouds Oak Ridge Manor up North aint bad.
For quick chicken Go Chicken Go by Rockhurst College is pretty darn good. The fried livers and gizzard with gravy dippin sauce were good. That stuff was deadly when you had to go back to work outside in the heat 95 with 60% humidity. |

Funny this came up. I don't like fried chicken, don't think I've eaten it in the past 10 years even. No joke. Yesterday My wife brings home a couple fried chicken meals after work from Price Chopper in Overland Park. I didn't want it but decided to try. It was outstanding. Better than I remember Strouds. Seriously no joke.

Last week, driving from Tablerock to Wichita, I missed my turn and ended up turning around in Chicken Annies parking lot, wishing it was later in the day so I could try it again! |

Dillons leftover 8 piece Chicken when you are drunk is damn good too. At the end of the day (Probably after 11PM) they used to take it away from the heat, put it in a cooler with an orange $2.49 sticker on it. It was probably only good because we were piss ass drunk. Except the driver of course. But boy was it good on a dunkin eating binge at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Since we're on the subject of chicken: every time I eat Lee's I $#it horribly and each one feels like a flame thrower.
We make dishes with habanero's and jalapenos regularly and i'm fine. We eat Lee's chicken and despite the fact it's only mildly hot I $#it fire for 2 days. Every time. I love their food but....eh....only on my days off...
