Yeah. Hard to argue with it.

So, you're essentially agreeing with the statement then?

You're of the opinion that he doesn't throw deep because of protection, while I'm of the opinion that he's just risk adverse... a live to fight another down kinda guy and considers turnovers to be terrible game changers.

I think that his historically low TD:INT ratio is plenty of evidence for his risk adverse nature.

You referenced QB and field general, etc etc. Then you said not only were you not talking about Smith but not a QB. Okay, whatever.

We semi-agree. But there is evidence of when he was with both SF and KC that he will go deep. I think the play of the WR and OL added to what you say is his risk adverse nature.

I would submit that having a crappy oline first and foremost hinders the ability to throw deep. Chiefs obviously need to address that. I'm not saying Smith is gonna start chucking it down field every play if we upgrade the oline. But I think last year was a step back for his development under Reid due to the terrible play of the oline. I think he showed that he was willing to throw deep and he could become a very good QB the last few games of 2013 and the playoff game.

Kennison was a very good Chief. He isn't even close to Jeremy Maclin good. That Vermeil offense made it very easy for Kennison and Morton to run non-stop dig routes.
