Why would somebody in their prime come and play with a brokedick QB like AS?

May be nothing, but it could also explain his tendency to have both the major injuries and to have his fair share of dings.
He's always done that, even in HS. Every time he gets tackled, he takes forever to get up. I've seen him limp back to the huddle (or LOS, in his Mizzou days) after taking a hit on a short or intermediate route... then turn around and toast the cornerback on a fly or deep post.

I think it's gamesmanship.

I believe both of his ACL injuries were non-contact ones. I know his injury during his first year at Mizzou was during fall practice, like the day or week before they starting live hitting drills.

Quick google search tells me his tear with the Eagles was also during non-contact drills (7-on-7, it gave out coming off the line).

If consistently shitting your pants is considered smart; my nephew is a bonafide genious!

Anyhow, nobody expects Maclin to say anything different.

Could be, but that cluster**** right before halftime of the patriot game indicated to me he's not much of a field general. I can't think of too many veteran qbs with his level of experience that would stand around looking at the sidelines while 20 seconds ticked away. A smart qb would have a play in his back pocket ready to go, especially right after a timeout. That's just one quick example.

So it's come full circle:

1st we bitch about Smith
Then we bitch about lack of cap room
Then we bitch about how much we paid Maclin
Now we are back to bitching about Smith

Couldn't see that coming...

I am very curious about how this will play out. I like Bowe but I'm afraid that his best days are behind him. Now if he goes to another team and blows up then I'll admit that I was wrong. I doubt that will happen, though.

Or calling timeouts in the Chargers game 2 years ago inside the 5 with 1st and goal to preserve as much time as we could for Rivers...

Or passing down after down trying to protect a 28 pt lead in the playoffs...

Or not giving Charles or Davis the ball and putting the game in Smiths hands in Denver last year on the goal line with timeouts to spare...

Yeah the list goes on and on and is filled with brilliant WTF moments from Smith and Reid.

I'm not bitching about smith. Simply responding to what maclin said. Bitching is something you do about refs. Incessantly.

Yes because somehow he will go from not getting open for the last 2 years to suddenly being open.

That will happen for only one of a few reasons:

1. He isn't the #1 and won't draw the attention
2. He will put more effort into his play indicating he was not here
3. He will in some kind of a system that schemes him open

We have all said for the last few years that Bowe never gets separation and can't burn anyone. But Alex Smith.....
