For a chain place, I like Cracker Barrel's buttermilk fried chicken special on Sundays. Pretty cheap at like 8 or 9 bucks.

Some is better than others, but I don't think there's such a thing as bad fried chicken. Shit's even tasty a couple days later straight out of the fridge..

The best chicken I've had at a chain was from Los Pollos Hermanos. Man, that stuff was good. I just grabbed a four piece and soda value meal. The cashier kept going on and on about how I could get something good on the side but didn't really mention exactly what so I stuck with the combo. I guess they have their own proprietary drink called "Blue Sky" because the cashier was pushing that too but I wanted a grape drink. I can't get it out here in NorCal though. I stopped in during a trip through Nevada. I'm not sure what spices they use. I heard that the owner was from somewhere in South America so maybe it's Spanish?

I went to Rye last night.
Severely underwhelmed by their fried chicken. It was just blah. Going to try Stroud's. |

The more I think about the chicken I had last night the more angry I get.
12 bucks for three small pieces of completely meh fried chicken. Didn't even come with a side. I forgot to leave a tip, too. Like I literally forgot. I'm not going back to give the guy the tip because that covered the price of the shitty chicken. Stupid ****ing hipster restaurant. |

I actually intended to tip but absent-mindedly put the receipt with the tip amount in my pocket. Don't really care to go back and fix my error. Sucks to be them. But seriously the chicken was totally ****ing bland, and seemed like there wasn't much meat on it at all. It was well cooked and not greasy but, meh. |

I always see people walking around downtown with Go Chicken Go boxes during lunch. Dont know where one is but gotta think its good if its that popular while not being a well known place.

There's one on Troost. 50th-51st St, right along there. I work nearby. It's not really anything great. I wouldn't put it above KFC or anything. Menu is really simple. Not many choices. But it's reasonably cheap for chicken, and they have gizzards and livers if you're into fried chicken scraps...
