Dorsey and Reid believe in Smith. Kelce and Maclin believe in him. That's all you need to know
If only the NFL allowed teams to package draft picks for players or to move around in order of the draft, huh?

How does trading your veteran QB for a 3rd or 4th round pick do you any favors when we already hold a 3rd comp pick?

It's not like we are trying to re-invent the wheel. This team is set up for success in its current state thanks to Dorsey. Houston and Maclin just need to get their shit together. Hali and Charles needs to quit bleeding this team of its money.

Do you even football, bro?

And you're right, this team IS set up to win now, but guess which one crucial part of the equation they don't have right now?

Run defense. You know, a guy named Leveon Bell just ran for 170 yards.

is there anyone saying run defense isnt an issue?

if we had a QB who could make plays those 170yds would have been forgotten because we would have won.

You think that run defense would have held up for 2 more games?

Child, please.

Defense wins championships. The coaching staff, the lineman, the receivers, the run defense all failed way harder than our QB did that game. Alex Smith is a solid game managing QB who can take us all the way. Players getting paid up the wazoo (Houston, Maclin, Charles, Tamba) and aren't giving us jack ****.

Please name me all the somewhat recent teams that won with a great defense and an average QB. '85 Bears, '15 Broncos, '00 Ravens... it's the exception, not the rule. Usually a team needs a good defense and a good QB.

All of those things were bad. Does not mean Alex Smith was good.

His 1-3 playoff record here says otherwise.

Defense wins championships yet we have HoF QBs only representing the AFC in the SB for a long time now. Football cliches spewed by the star-struck media aside it is timely plays that win games. QBs have the best chance of making those plays. You can point to lack of run D, dropped passes, etc but Smith hasn't produced enough as a passer in 4 years to show he can score against teams with serious SB aspirations. Yea you can point to a game or two here and there but the big picture is that we are a below average offense for the supposed HC genius we have, continuity in system, resume of skill players and what we are paying them.

The easiest way to be an annual contender is to field a QB who can make plays in every game and most of us here are confident that there are options better than Smith.

What's your proof?

He's had 4 years and we haven't even come close with Alex at the helm.

So you counter that with an explosive offense that puts points on the bored but you need a quarterback to get the job done and we don't have that.

Holy shit balls.

We held the Steelers to 3 point drives all day but couldn't come up with enough points on our own yes we can blame Alex Smith for that he is the quarterback.

Your stupidity is killing me. What do you do for a living that you don't have to use your noggin?

You understand that the vast majority of superbowl winners played superb defense to win it all, right? You watch the SB last year? You ever watch the Seahawks play? Steelers? Patriots of the 2000's? Ravens?

All those teams have better quarterbacks than the Chiefs.

Dumb.

The object of the game is to outscore your opponent do you not know this?

You need points to outscore your opponents that's not something Alex Smith is providing without defense or special teams to account for our offensive shortcomings.

It's not all Alex Smith fault no but he is a big fault to the problem.

They didn't score a touchdown. I'd give up 400 yards rushing to Bell if we kept them out of the end zone. You look dumb right now.
