I'll add ambient and synth elements in certain genres, like contemporary modern commercial music, but as a rule, no, and I don't do any EDM.

Although the latest national commercial I scored for Draft Kings is very 80's synth heavy (I used an Oberhiem from the Arturia V Collection) that was for a specific client's brief.

That said, my new favorite soft synths are Output and Rev by Signal, which are great for ambient modern piano driven tracks like you'd hear in several network procedural series.

Tyler still has a great voice. I personally dont like the "countryfication" of rock and pop, but i get why its happened.
