It's kind of like solitaire except you have a partner and you play against other groups of partners. There's less genital punching than you'd expect.

Multiple player solitaire where you can play on other players cards can get VICIOUS. Kind of like spoons. Rings and watches not allowed.

Ohh yeah. There's always some bruised knuckles trying to get your card down before the other teams. Definitely no rings or watches during genital punching either.

Started out when we were little with the board game Aggravation. Grandparents got into cards with their circle of friends, so we moved to Bridge and Pinochle. For awhile we were on a big binge for a domino game called chicken scratch Every once in a while we break out the Rummikub to shake things up For the longest though we play Crazy 13s. |

I like Gin Rummy and used to play it with my boys fairly regularly. My wife knows how to play but doesn't like it as much. She does like a rummy type game called Coon Can and we used to play that pretty frequently. You don't use the 8s, 9s or 10s in a deck and you can't accumulate cards. You can only take a card if you play it immediately. It's pretty easy to play to a draw if you don't start with a decent hand.

It's pretty much my wife's favorite game. I forgot to mention a game that my grandparents like to play and we now play pretty frequently. We always used to call it the dice game but it turns out it's actually called Farkle. The rules of the commercial game suck, though. Don't play that way.

My parents never liked playing games when I was a kid, but in recent years they really got into Sequence. I played a few games with them a couple of visits ago, and it kind of drove me crazy. It's pure luck. An outside observer can predict the winner with 100 percent accuracy as soon as the game starts based on what cards or chips or whatever they drew. I love playing games, but Sequence was not the type of game I enjoy.
On a hypocritical note, I really liked the Game of Life when I was a kid. It was just dumb luck too, but I really liked seeing how the family ended up. I'd play by myself and have multiple generations where I'd play a game and then I'd make the kids in that game the players in the next game. Can you believe that I do demographic research now for a living?
