Your family's "strange" traditions
A post in another thread made me think about this. What are your family's traditions - holiday or otherwise - that you think are kinda weird, or at least nontraditional traditions?

I don't really know how or even when it started, but my wife and I have a tradition of eating chain Italian on Christmas Eve. Olive Garden and Carrabba's mostly.

It's not a holiday tradition, but my family's strange habit growing up was to never let anyone into the house except family. As far as I can recall, my parents never had another couple over for dinner and never had a party. I wasn't allowed to bring other kids in the house for years, and finally broke that tradition in high school as long as we stayed in the basement and didn't go into the main part of the house. And I barely remember extended family members coming over; maybe once a year at most, but I think it was probably once every two years. Their home was not just their castle, it was their fortress.

Anyone is welcome to come over to visit. My only rule is that we're nudity-only inside the house.

but if they bring their own dirty, stained wooden spoon, they might have a problem. like if they draw an Ace of Spades, then tell everyone to 'wait', as they reach under the table and produce a wooden case that contains their spoon. like opening a case that you would use to carry your own pool cue.
