We choose a different culture every Easter and don't have ham or whatever people eat. Last year we did Japanese, year before we did Greek.

When I was a kid Santa would bring all three of us our very own two liter of Pepsi. It was ours and we didn't have to share.
It's amazing we all don't have diabetes.

It's not a holiday tradition, but my family's strange habit growing up was to never let anyone into the house except family. As far as I can recall, my parents never had another couple over for dinner and never had a party. I wasn't allowed to bring other kids in the house for years, and finally broke that tradition in high school as long as we stayed in the basement and didn't go into the main part of the house. And I barely remember extended family members coming over; maybe once a year at most, but I think it was probably once every two years. Their home was not just their castle, it was their fortress.

I prefer female visitors, by the way. We are indeed much more social in general, though to be honest that's more my wife's doing than mine.

We get a good portion of the family around a giant table and play a card game called Nerts.

That sounds more like a game that involves genital punching.

oh it is. not very complicated game, really. If you draw an Ace of Spades, you get smacked in the nether regions with a dirty wooden spoon.

Does it get awkward when some family members try to draw the Ace of Spades on purpose?

but if they bring their own dirty, stained wooden spoon, they might have a problem. like if they draw an Ace of Spades, then tell everyone to 'wait', as they reach under the table and produce a wooden case that contains their spoon. like opening a case that you would use to carry your own pool cue.
