Even though it failed...

I agree with us going for two at the end. Except for that last drive, our offense was non-existent in the 2nd half, and the Chargers were moving the ball at will. We would not have won in overtime.

Also, someone said earlier that you can't put it on the defense in overtime. It only goes on the defense if we lose the coinflip, which is a 50% chance. The chance of getting a 2 point conversion are less than 50%. That is the decision.
No, the decision is do you have a better chance of making a 2 point conversion or being the first to score in OT. That is the decision.

I agree with the call too. Our offense had proven flat the whole half and their's hadn't. They had the momentum and there was no guarantee we could get on their half of the field again. Same situation as for the Bronco's earlier this season only it worked for them not for us (nothing goes our way this season)
Didn't like to see what looked like the exact same bootleg used earlier at the goal line for the 2pt conversion though

In my experience, it's best
to take that opportunity -
if it's there.

It was the right call. No doubt about it. At 1-7, on the road, you've got nothing to lose.

no .... but running the bootleg immediately cuts the field in half and limits your options.

it also limits the time your QB has to make a decision because general the DE on that side of the field goes unblocked.

you have 3 options

1. QB can just run it

2. QB can throw it to the RB in the flat

3. QB can throw it to the WR/TE a little deeper

btw you have like 2 seconds to make the decision because of the free DE.

i would of much prefer to call a play like we did when we scored the touchdown.

Thigpen can look over the entire field and doesn't have to make a decision until the defense forces him to make a decision.

the Defense has to cover the quick slants, the fades, the fade stop, the run .... everything, which increases your chances.

but like i said .... i'm fine going for it.

Not only that, but bootlegs work a little better in the middle of the field, where the D isn't a max of 10 yards away from the LOS.

The game was over at the half (again). We ran on every first down the second half until 6 minutes left in the 4th. We've been Hermed three weeks straight. Too bad Hunt is such a moron he'll think this is progress. Welcome back next year, doofus. (BTW, I didn't mind going for 2, but since we quit early anyway, it really doesn't matter).

Well compared to how we played against Atlanta, Carolina and Tennessee I would say that either he has them prepared better or they are just getting better every week.

We have had the chance to win the last 3 games that can't be denied.

Yeah... the coaching staff still sucks balls...

But the young players are getting better and better.

I honestly believe if DJ and Flowers were healthy, we'd have won that game.

I agree with the bold part. We've got a ton of young, talented players, who are just getting up to speed.

I hear ya. It just pisses a person off what this team can do with a shell of a roster, only to be outcoached endlessly.

I'm not sure I agree with the decison to go for it, but it's the first time that Herman ****ing Edwards has shown any sack, so I sure as hell am not going to complain.
