Even though it failed...

I agree with us going for two at the end. Except for that last drive, our offense was non-existent in the 2nd half, and the Chargers were moving the ball at will. We would not have won in overtime.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

TODAY WE DID

chiefs1111 11-09-2008 06:26 PM

Yeah, about time Herm show some freaking ball, even if it didn't work,im glad they tried for it> we were 1-7,what did we have to lose??? Exciting game overall ill admit...

JuicesFlowing 11-09-2008 06:26 PM

I don't know if we wouldn't have won in OT, but I totally agree with Herm's call ... go for the kill, Herm did the right thing.

kstater 11-09-2008 06:27 PM

Yup, can't go for the coinflip with this D.

rtmike 11-09-2008 06:27 PM

Second half adjustments...theirs worked, ours didn't.

I, too, am glad Hermee went for it. 1-7, what's to lose?

TG looked rather disgusted there at the end, didn't see him shaking anybodies hand.

eazyb81 11-09-2008 06:27 PM

I don't know, I'd say the odds of getting a last second two point conversion are less than the odds of winning a coinflip.

suds79 11-09-2008 06:27 PM

Great call.

I'd rather take my chances on a 2 pt conversion rather than a coin flip.

Just didn't work out in our favor. :(

Spott 11-09-2008 06:28 PM

With Dick Vermeil's offense it would have been the right call. We got lucky to get in the end zone because SD's D was pushing our OL around. The only good thing about Herm's bonehead move is that he's one loss closer to being fired.

50/50 either way.

Assuming we Lost the coin toss and Rivers didn't throw yet another pick.

It was a dumb call.

Deberg_1990 11-09-2008 06:28 PM

Going for 2 was the right call. Wins dont matter for this team at this point.

What matters is Thigpen continued to show alot of promise and the defense improved as well.

Rausch 11-09-2008 06:28 PM

Pigpen was the best person to have the ball and the call for two was the best decision.

Someone must have locked Herm in a closet...

BigRock 11-09-2008 06:28 PM

Why Gailey calls a bootleg 3 plays after the Chargers showed they weren't going to be fooled is anyone's guess. But going for 2 was definitely the right move.
