Well at this rate, with the people in place, we can forget about a superbowl or a AFC championship game..

So I guess we can just kick back and relax, watch Herm unveil his master plan...

sooooooooo ... it's just a coincedence that Herm dismantled Vermeil's spread-ish offense for the Run,Run,Pass,Punt offense before Gailey ever got here ....... but Gailey continued on with it even though he had complete control?

and it took a virtual offensive Armageddon before they changed back?

that just beyond silly

herm "influenced" the type of offense he wanted to run when he hired Chan. Gailey agreed to that type of offense to get the job.

the idea that this is someone Herm's master plan is complete BS

why would he dump Trent Green and that entire offensive game plan the way he did if he really want to just go back to another type of spread offense?

if Trent Green was the problem then change QB's but keep the rest.

no ..... he imploded it because he wanted to and now he is being force back into it because of the major suckitude of the RRPP offense and injuries.

no way are we running this offense without the complete implosion we experienced.

Basically it shows a serious lack of talent evaluation by the coaching staff.. OR, a serious lack of adjustment by the coaching staff until they were forced to adjust from their vaunted R2P2 into more modern NFL scheme...

Your right, I appologize, Saying Herm had or has a plan is giving him WAY to much credit...

Again sorry for my lapse in rational judgement.....

Right now - sure. But Herm hired Chan because they share a vision of what the offense will be 2 or 3 years down the line, and it is definitely one that runs more often than what we've done the last 3 games. We will not be the Saints.

His reputation at Ga Tech was conservative. Can't blame Herm for that. Not that it will stop the conspiracy theorists down the road.

The rest of what? This team was (and still is) completely depleted of talent. The only talent that really exists on this roster is the talent that's been acquired the past two drafts and offseasons (minus TG, Waters, LJ & DJ).

This team has needed an enema for a decade and that's exactly what's happened. Finding an identity on offense has come much quickly than I ever imagined.

Now if they could just find an identity on defense after failing for the past decade...

Gailey may have been conservative at GT, but he was anything but in his previous stints in the NFL.

Does Priest Holmes sound familiar? Vermeil thought he'd only be a 3rd down back at best.

This shit happens all the time. Coaches don't always know what they have on their roster.

Mark Bradley is a perfect example.

So is Tyler Thigpen. Do you think the Vikings regret cutting him now?

I agree. But they ran a lot. Steelers in the early 90's.

People here think the running game is obsolete. They say they don't - but they do.

His QBs almost always threw for barely over 3,000 yards in Pitt, Dallas, and Miami. He is absolutely a conservative coach, but i'm glad he's opening things up now.

and when Herm tries to go back to a power offense when Larry Johnson comes back? or maybe next season when HERM comes back?

will that be his double secret master plan?

Gailey wasn't with the Steeler's in the early 90's. He was the WR coach from 1994-1995 and the OC from 1997-1998.

There's no way LJ will be with the Chiefs in 2009.

I'll be shocked if Herm allows him to play in 2008.

And furthermore, you're just speculating.
