Am I crazy for wanting to see us burn a late round pick on a QB like Duggan?

I'd be a bitter Larry Johnson type of guy if I was a quarterback drafted by the Chiefs. You know that you'll never see the field. Maybe the Chiefs should just sign free agents (vets or rookies) for the next 20 years so they know what they're signing up for.

But think about coming in and ending your rookie contract with a Super Bowl ring? That would trump not playing.

I wonder how backup quarterbacks talk about their Super Bowls. They're pretty much the only guys who never get on the field all season, other than Chad Henne making the occasional brilliant clutch drive in the playoffs.

Raiders draft is over and phew - I killed it for these boys.
1.7: Anthony Richardson, QB - Florida - insane talent, may be great and may be out of the league in 3 years but man you can't pass on those tools at this spot. 2.38: Brian Branch - S, Alabama: Probably the best safety in the draft. A possible 1st rounder at 38 who also fits a position of need. 3.70: Rashee Rice, WR - SMU: Love the guy. A lot of Aiyuk in his game and getting him here is a screaming value. 3.100: Devon Achane, RB - A&M: Just a hell of dangerous fastback and a perfect complement to Josh Jacobs. 4.109: Karl Brooks, DL - Bowling Green: Lots of tools and nice inside/outside potential. 5.141: KJ Henry, DE - Clemson: Maybe a need pick a little but it was a big need and I think Henry is going to be a solid player. 5.144: Warren McClendon, OT - UGA: Big time player on a big time team. Maybe he's not an OT long-term but he's going to play at the next level. At worst you have a nice swing OT who has a career similar to Wylie where he can move inside to G and play OT in a pinch. 5.174: Kei'trel Clark, CB - Lousiville: Just a solid DB. 6.204: Nick Saldiveri, OL - ODU: Similar player to McClendon and layering OL Depth is rarely a bad thing. 6.214: Anthony Johnson Jr, DB - ISU: Really nice 3rd safety/hybrid nickel sort of guy who I think will be able to contribute as a rookie. 7.220: Davis Allen, TE - Clemson: Just another solid football player. Nothing spectacular but he's someone that will make the team and play good ball. 7.231: Dee Winters, LB - TCU: Gimme all the DB to LB converts who still play with aggression. At worst he should be a STs demon but I think he may develop into a really nice nickel LB or even long-term starting Will. He's just the kind of LBer that we're seeing more and more of in the league. What I really like about this draft is just how wide a net we cast. QB, WR, RB, TE, a couple OL, a couple DL, a clear starting S, a couple of nice CB possibilities and even a solid LB in the 7th. We got something for EVERYONE in this draft. I could've maybe reallocated some draft capital to boundary corner as I'm not sure either of the guys I took will stay out wide, but with the board never really quite slotting right for me there, I'm still awfully happy with how it broke out.

With the 232nd pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Anthony Bradford, OL, LSU.
Green Bay adds an intriguing o-line prospect in the 7th round. Could end up being a backup swing tackle or maybe even a starting guard down the road but we love the value in the 7th. Last edited by Shoes; 04-12-2023 at 12:51 PM.. Reason: Bolding |

The Washington Commanders select , DE/LB, Kivon Bennett , Arkansas State
Loved his dad kid got in trouble early on in his college career so there are red flags which make him slip this far. The kid has tremendous talent like his dad. Washington is taking the risk this late. Hopefully he’s learned from his mistakes Time will tell. |

With the 235th pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Dylan Horton, Edge, TCU.
Green Bay adds to the defensive line by adding a versatile prospect in Dylan Horton who was asked to do a lot of different things during his tenure at TCU. I think Horton's best position in the NFL will be at edge. He probably finds the field early on in his career as a rotational pass rusher although his run defending skills aren't shabby either. |

The Seahawks draft is....meh.
1.5: Will Anderson, OLB - Alabama: Just an easy pick. Best player on the board and should make an immediate impact 1.20: Devon Witherspoon, CB - Illinois: Probably the easiest pick of any of them I made. Getting the best CB in the draft at 20 is pretty damn nice. 2.37: Will McDonald, OLB - Iowa State: Provides a complementary pass-rusher to Anderson. Raw speed and athleticism and having those 2 to deal with long-term is going to create some MASSIVE problems for opposing offenses. 2.52: Joe Tippmann, C - Wisconsin: Seahawks need a C and Tippman is likely to be a pretty good one. Simple enough. 3.83: Tanner McKee, QB - Stanford: Kinda hate this pick. I wanted a QBOTF from this draft and frankly I'd do that every year for a team that doesn't have one. McKee was the last one I thought might develop into a starter but with Perry and Mimms still on the board, I should've gone that route. This pick really ****ed up the rest of my draft. 4.123: Jerrod Clark, DT - Coastal Carolina: Reeeeeaaaaach. 5.151: Kayshon Boutte, WR - LSU: A player I don't really like at a position I wanted to target but botched my 3rd rounder. The draft continues to go off the rails for Seattle. 5.154: Alex Forsyth, IOL - Oregon: Solid player but probably should've gone with Wanya Morris. 6.198: Keondre Coburn, DT - Texas: A welcome respite from my last 4 pretty shitty selections. 7.237: Ronnie Hickman, S - Ohio State: Just a poor man's Anthony Johnson Jr. This pick doesn't suck but it isn't exactly good either. It...exists. I knew that McKee pick had a chance to screw my draft up when I made it and sure enough that's exactly what it did. Oh well. Here's hoping I didn't blow this one as badly as I mangled that Jets draft last season. It was a trainwreck.
