If this is actually the problem, it's pretty clear Townsend isn't going to suddenly get it and you need to find a goddamn solution.

Sometimes this team just enrages me. I'll gladly give up the extra 3-4 yards per punt Townsend provides if it means getting a decent holder. Hell, bring Dustin back. Who cares, it's a goddamn punter. The holding is the most important part of their damn job as far as I'm concerned.

Is it reality Winchester though? He’s been here forever and that’s never been a problem before unless he just dropped off that much.

At this point of the season you have to do something and getting the hold right is way more important than, say, someone like Kemp. It's not at all an ideal situation. But I think next year if Tommy doesn't get it... he's too good of a punter to let go. Andy likes these average veteran clipboard holder QBs. Either teach Buechele to do it or find a veteran who can do this for the next 5 years and is willing to get paid handsomely to do it.

Personally hoping it's all on the long snapper since that's by far the easiest fix.

Not here on ChiefsPlanet, good sir. Several posters played JV football and know far more about kicking than a ProBowl punter (from a family of NFL players, nonetheless).

I agree. In fact, I think many of the posters here have credible claims to be able to make a high percentage of field goals and extra point kicks, if only we could find uniforms that fit them

I would imagine the drag on the football would change depending on where the laces are like the seams on a baseball does.

I am not worried about it. The operation will practice and try to get it right.

And the Chiefs can adjust game strategy if it is not corrected to be good as ever.

I remember 2014 Royals. The infielders did not particularly try their best on throws in the dirt to Hosmer at first base because Hosmer almost always picked the ball in the dirt.

Hosmer gets hurt later in the season and Billy Butler has to play first and the infielders start paying more attention to making better throws because Billy Butler will miss half of the balls in the dirt

By the time Hosmer is back, almost every throw to first is a solid throw.

Butker Townsend and Winchester need to fix the operation and if they do not get it back to normal, call a different game to make up for it.

Someone else said it, but it's like a clot of mud or something on the side of the ball. Now laces aren't terribly heavy, but in combination with the added drag, it will make the ball move in a way the kicker wasn't expecting. Kickers usually are pretty particular about exactly where they want the laces pointed; at the right post, center, whatever. And pretty exact about the tilt.

But I don't think some people are grasping what Dustin said. He didn't say that Townsend was a bad holder. He said he was a great punter, but an average holder. NFL average is not bad. It's pretty good. The thing we're not taking into account is that Colquitt was a great holder.

And it just might be that there isn't anyone better on the entire team. And the whole idea of "let's just coach some guy up and make him a great holder," is hilarious. Especially in the middle of the season. You can't just learn to be a great holder in 6-7 weeks, my friends. Mechanically it's a lot more complicated than that. It's just not a thing.

The jerseys aren't really a problem for most posters, it's finding pants big enough for their 12" penises

What Colquitt doesn't mention is Buttker's foot placement....the pic on the right shows Buttkers plant foot past the placement of the ball.....when that occurs you most always will push the kick to the right.....

I'd have them sew a third leg onto the pants, then I'd put a shoe on and kick with it.
