Veach's '21 Offseason Plan to Keep Us Thriving: Let's speculate

In order to prevent us wasting precious years of Patrick Mahomes' career, Veach needs to work some magic this offseason. What's your advice for him?

And I just watched his comments on Fisher.

Said he had surgery on 1/29 and according to his medical staff....a projected returned is August.

And it doesn’t sound likes he’s breaking the bank at WR in FA.

You do know Chiefs were high on Ruiz last year?

I also disagree that a center can't be a value.

Our system is Tackle Center Tackle..

Draft elite OL if it's there. We are late 1, not top 5.

We need stars. If they are on OL it makes our offense much better.

There aren't any 1st round quality centers in this draft. Really at all.

I haven't got through them yet.

Finishing up WRs.

Regardless, the point was it sounded like Veach prefers OL but won't overdraft one .

We may not like any of the centers. They might.

Veach specifically mentioning his detail with contracts leading up to this year mentioning roster bonuses. Translation: I extended Patrick last year and left an option for a roster bonus conversion this year in case covid hurt the overall cap.

Feels good having a proactive GM.

Btw all we have to do is convert Patrick’s roster bonus and we aren’t in the red anymore

It’s weird being at 31 in that you’re probably gonna end up taking a 2nd round type guy. There aren’t gonna be that many first round players

Everyone says it every year but this year I’d love it if they could find a way to trade down and get another day 2 pick out of the deal.

Hopefully, that means somebody like Linsley is coming in FA and WR can be part of the draft strategy.

Linsley would solve a huge issue with the offensive line. Give him a 3-4 year deal with a lower year one cap hit and we’re good there.

I’d still look at bringing in someone like Josh Reynolds or Keelan Cole to play the X and then draft one where there’s value.

Veach mentioning that seems to be BPA. That makes sense to me considering a ton of QB’s, receivers and a tackles will be taken would leave the door open for a quality corner like Kelvin Joseph (Matt House coached him at Kentucky), Aaron Robinson or Greg Newsom being available.

Corner is one of the most valuable areas on a Patrick Mahomes team considering everyone is trying to load up on weapons and keep up with us.

Yeah, I really haven't thought about CB recently given all the other storylines going on but it would make a ton of sense, honestly.

I would hate a corner pick at 31.

Our defense doesn't need elite corners. We need more pass rush and 1 3 down lb.

It's also a position that Veach keeps finding cheap value at.

The entire defense revolves around the defensive backfield. We need pass rushers, yes, but there is no more important position in this defense than DB.
