How do you beat the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs?

I am curious how teams will try to attack us this year. In my opinion, there are only 3 things that can prevent us from having a Super Bowl Season (and 1 very low odds thing).

I'm really pumped for 2019.

1. Injury to the NFL MVP Risk: Medium
Why: Duh.

2. Passes to the boundaries (CB) deep corners (CB) and over the short-middle (LB's). Risk: Medium
Why: So far, it seems we have improved against the Run, we still can produce pressure, and our safety play has improved drastically.

Because of the hole at CB, these areas of the defense are our most vulnerable, IMO, which isn't a bad thing, all things considered:
- By itself, taking the time to throw deep corners all game is not sustainable and will result in a lot of incompletions and sacks. That means more Time of Possession for the Chiefs' offense.
- By itself, throwing WR screens won't work all game, and will mean more Time of Possession for the Chiefs' offense.
- By itself, the short middle of the field means throwing into Chris Jones' paws and risking tipped ball INT's. It's not sustainable all game.

All together, those three approaches have me worried, because dinking and dunking will move the chains and can drain the clock.

3. Injury to the NFL's #1 TE Risk: medium
Why: This will force us to look to other areas of the field and position groups for production. That would make us less dimensional on offense than say, a WR going down. I wish we would have addressed the huge hole at TE2 - not for the production, but for the insurance against injury.

4. Reid's health Risk: Low
Why: His playcalling is critical to our success. His health is terrible. God forbid something happen, that could derail the season.

What else has you guys worried?
What would you do if you had to play against us?

There is one way to beat the spread, you must attack it. Pittsburgh had done that well when covering Wilson Robinson Hill and Kelce. They didn’t dare with Watkins Kelce Hill and Conley and sagging their coverage got them run out of the building. You can’t zone this scheme because they spread you too thin horizontally. It creates windows that Mahomes’ plus arm can easily exploit. You can’t play man with two high because it will afford the WRs too much time to get open unless you can quickly do away with the KC OL. Pittsburgh and LAC tried one high sending five as the game wore on and while the results were better it still wasn’t fast enough because they sent their blitzer from a distance. The only way to combat this scheme is mutual suicide. You have to press the LOS, you have to send 5 from the LOS, leaving one high at the most. You have to dare them to beat you up the field faster than you can get to the QB. You have to speed up an offense that is incredibly fast. While Mahomes is raw and the KC OL is mediocre, that is the answer. When he improves his accuracy and timing, that answer is gone.

From last year but still applies.

Keep Mahomes off the field and never fail to score a TD on every offensive possession.

Dec 22 in Chicago, could be a bad weather game, with the Bears playing for their playoff life, the Chiefs not so much.

There it is.

If we could do one thing and that is clean up our penalties we'd be 16-0 this year. It's one thing the Patriots do well and it wins them games.

How do you beat the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs?

You take their QB out of the season, by going after his knees and then boast about the way some Chief fans did cheering Pollard for it.

Karma. It goes around.

I have eyeballs.

Also, it’s widely known that he doesn’t sleep and eats like Brooke Pryor on a cheat day.

But again, eyeballs.

You out-coach their coach when he makes a dumb move, as he usually does in big games sinking the high-hopes of the fan base.

That was my assessment also...in the Goodell greed era, you can gauge which teams the NFL wants to succeed, that particular season, by how games are officiated.

Was it a surprise when the Rams went to the SB on the worst NFCCG call in history?...all you have to do is travel back to the LA game where the Chiefs were called for like 8 penalties in the first 10 minutes. They, then, ignored a blatant false start on the Rams first quarter TD.

Patriots weren't called for a penalty in the first KC match-up...then had 3 questionable 4th quarter calls in the next.

Chargers were getting questionable calls in nearly every game leading up to the KC match-up (the Steelers game was a joke)...which ended with a terrible game deciding PI call that the NFL later said was wrong.

This happened in the Raiders miracle 12-4 season too...

If KC starts getting bad calls, again, in prime-time match-ups...you know the decision makers have someone else in mind for the SB.

Sorry to say...
