Mahomes in the locker room after the afcc

A friend in KC texted me yesterday. He was talking with a coach who was in the locker room and said that Mahomes was very vocal in the privacy of the locker room after the game.

He was screaming that "we are not going to keep losing games like this." Apparently, even Reid had to calm him down.

Now, this is all hearsay upon hearsay, but it came from a reliable source. I think that - assuming it is true - this is absolutely part of Sutton going. Clark and Reid know that this franchise is about making the most of Mahomes' prime. While he said everything right in the press conference and microphone, it's clear Mahomes knows the defense allowing opposing QBs to score at will has been the downfall all year.

It's a tough loss, but the start of a fantastic journey. I'm more excited at the end of the year than I ever have been.

This information was relayed to me from the perspective of Mahomes was being very fiery, and very vocal, but not calling out anyone specifically. This was not in poor form, but rather a pretty exceptional display of culture change for a team accustomed to losing.

EDITED.

Well, I know that we didn't get extra points for saving those timeouts. But, Brady had just thrown 2 picks, one nullified by Dee Ford, so who knows. But, I think it was very clear that the defense was exhausted, so why the **** would you not call a timeout, regardless of what you believe to be the inevitable outcome?

I was watching something about Warren Sapp, maybe it was A Football Life. Well, when he was drafted with Derrick Brooks that year, the Bucs were pretty much the laughing stock and Sapp saw the media making fun of the Bucs and he ran to some players and yelled something like "THEY AREN'T EVER GOING TO TALK LIKE THIS ABOUT US AGAIN, HELL NO"

That's what great players do.

At a game in San Diego Sapp said "This shit is stopping right now." That stopped right there.

Despite knowing what was going to happen, it still pisses me off that NO ONE thought to call a time out. The guys were gassed. At least let them catch their breath and put whatever effort they had left into it.

We still need a coach with the sole responsibilities of telling Reid to run when we should be running and to manage the clock and call time outs. He's needed this crutch his whole career. It's not going to change.

Bob never did adjust.

lol adjustments. Did we have a scoreless half of football all year? It's about execution.

I refuse to believe that Belichick is both simultaneously that good and that bad, that he couldn't 'readjust' in the 2nd half.

no specific detail of adjustments made are ever discussed. It's just some platitude trotted out during NFL season.

So, Kelce was gettin' this treatment, and Mahomes and Hill were being defended like so.

If Belichick has reinvented the wheel, why haven't teams copied what it is the Pats do?

or is it so nuanced that it's imperceptible

Kelce's drop in the third quarter was huge. Killed that drive.
