Yes, gone down. He was a much better prospect when he was a 17 year old unknown with a big body. Now it has become apparent that he is a horrific shooter, that he has no rebounding ability, that he can’t pass, that he has no motor, that he doesn’t move his feet defensively, and that his basketball IQ is low. He currently has no NBA skills to speak of (scoring in the post against college sized bigs is not one of them).

Is he a far better college player than last year? Of course. But all this season has affirmed is that he’s not much of a pro prospect at all. As mentioned, though, time still remains on his side.

Isn’t that ultimately good for KU though? Instead of him leaving, he’ll be around for a few years to get even better. We’ll have so much inside depth next year that his flaws will be masked. Could be similar to Sasha as a senior when he was surrounded by Jackson, Arthur, and Aldrich.
