Louis CK's film premier and Colbert apperance -- cancelled.
Apparently the NYT is about to release a story revealing potentially salacious allegations about CK. He's possibly next to go down.
Rumors have circulated around CK for a few years now. I don't know what the Times has, but he's probably going to be hit with some sexual assault or sexual harassment accusations. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/new...-story-1056585 |

Why do they include the LOUIS CK ONE TIME TOLD A FEMALE HE WAS GOING TO **** HER AT A COMEDY SHOW! Okay so?
Stick with the blocking the door beating off, that is your best bet to defame this man.

It speaks to his overall character. He defamed himself. And it sucks all around.

As far as the rest of them, yes he abused his power, but lets not confuse this behavior with that of weinstein or Moore or cosby. They were not physically assaulted, drugged, or held captive.

Pretty soon it will be like Demolition Man. No physical contact at all, no shaking hands, get fined when you say the F word. I just find it odd they include that, within all of the other stuff. I read the other stuff and I was like wtf he's beating off keeping them in a hotel room making them watch. Then I see the he told some women he was going to **** her while he touched her neck at a comedy show and I was confused why it was even there. Stick to the crazy stuff about him, you know?

Not sure I can quite say this right but I'll give it a shot.
So Louis CK is weird; I don't think that's at issue. And I think we are all pretty much in agreement that using his influence to on people to effectively force them to indulge them in his deviant behavior crosses the line from weird to abhorrent. So what we're really going to damn him for is not being weird, but rather for abusing his status to force people into effectively participating in his deviancy. Anyone that has ascended professionally has had a moment where they went from 'of the group' to 'above the group'. And virtually everyone that has that moment realized it happened WELL after it did. There's generally a tipping point where you look around and think to yourself "holy shit; people not only care what I have to say, they'll pretty much make it happen without questioning..." Now for most of us, that has nothing to do with your creepy sexual proclivities. You say something harsh and it ****s up someone's day. A week later you realize 'damn; I didn't have any idea I could do that..." and you feel bad about it. You tell a tech guy that you need to get work done so he doesn't do some updates that dick up your office for a week because suddenly when you say "i need X" the person you say it to doesn't say "but what about Y?", they just capitulate because you're now a person that gets listened to. You realize that and now you're the person that has to ask yourself "but what about Y?" because nobody is going to do it anymore. You have to be your own devil's advocate at that point and you recalibrate your behavior accordingly. It appears that a LOT of what CK did was, what, 10 years or so ago? 15? I haven't stayed up to date of late, but most of this was right around that time that he was still becoming famous rather than after he became a worldwide megastar. Isn't there at least some possibility that what we're looking at here is a person that simply had no idea that he'd become 'above the group' at that point? This is probably the same kind of weird shit he'd been doing for years and just got blown out of the water for. If he became an influential figure before he really realized he wielded that kind of power, his behavior is still weird as **** but isn't it less predatory? And wouldn't that also explain why it tapered off as his position in the comedy world became pretty damn apparent? Eh, I dunno...just trying to look at it from another angle. If it turns out he was still slinging his dick at girls 4-5 years ago, there's probably nothing to that thought. But it would seem like even as long ago as 2010, he realized he'd been a complete ****head in the early 2000s. It isn't an excuse as much as it's a possible explanation. And even if it were accurate - it would come off as tone-deaf as ****; he could never say "gee, I didn't realize that people now felt compelled to stare at my dick; I just thought I was on a hot streak..." because facially it does come off as really silly. But I do think there could be a kernel of truth there because it is something that happens. It's just that 99% of us aren't sexual deviants so it manifests itself differently.

I didn't ever expect to be running a division or becoming an exec at Paramount Pictures but it happened. Fortunately, my Dad's still around and as person that was president of multiple corporations, I could turn to him and ask how he'd handle a situation with an under-performing employee, what to say to employees that came to be for advice and how to manage being friends with superiors and people that worked for me, without giving preferential treatment. Louie has been a force in the entertainment business since the early 90's, whether as a talented writer or producer. He held a lot of power in the industry, which only grew as his career as a stand-up comedian began to grow. It's fairly apparent to me that he abused that power because he could. He didn't seek the advice of friends - as a matter of fact, he outright lied to his friends (Mark Maron in particular) about the "rumors" that had been circulating since 2002. He wasn't trying to be the best producer or writer that he could be in those circumstances. He became a monster instead. I can't even imagine how horrified and ashamed his daughters must be after these revelations. I wonder if the sexual deviancy was always a part of his life or if the power that he held over employees and other comedians spawned said deviancy? |

what about Al Franken now? If there are no more disclosures is he still a monster? Can you imagine the photos out there of comedians doing totally inappropriate things.
And a ****ing Bomb is getting to go off in the halls of Congress. I'd bet anything there are tons of stories waiting to be told of those old geezers doing something inappropriate with interns and other females.

It's not that I approve of what Al Franken did but kissing a woman is far different than forcing women to watch you jerk off. Probably |

I guess the point l was trying to make is that not everyone that's going to get swept up into this is going to be a "monster". Btw, a women came forward today that says George H Bush grabbed her ass during a photo op in the Oval Office.

Was Franken in a position of power relative to the accuser at the time of the alleged incident?

Attention comedians and writers: a show or a film or a tv show is not an open season to write in stuff you think would be fun to do to a woman you are working with that would otherwise be unprofessional. I am no prude when it comes to art so don't get me wrong, there is a place for those lines to be explored creatively, but not for gratification of the creator, exactly the side of the line on which this incident falls. |
