Candylicious: Round 4, Heat Set 2

We now have only 28 candies in the competition, and here's where it gets tough. Pick your poison from each pair. Five heats in this set, by the way.

Heat 5: Turtles versus Symphony Bar

Heat 6: Mike and Ike, Regular Flavor versus Rolo

Heat 7: Whatchamacallit versus 100 Grand Bar

Heat 8: Nestle Crunch versus Milky Way

Heat 9: Heath Bar versus Reese's Pieces

Man, you couldn't script tougher matchups than this. My votes:

Symphony Bar over Turtles. I was torn on this one, but remembered the rules. If you offered me both right now, I would pick the Symphony Bar. The toffee sounds good today.

Rolo over Mike and Ike, Regular Flavor. Neither of these are Ty Cobb, but I'd go Rolo over Mike and Ike since Mike and Ike has so many calories.

100 Grand Bar over Whatchamacallit. I'm realizing that the 100 Grand Bar doesn't get the credit it deserves. It's a top-notch bar of candy.

Nestle Crunch over Milky Way. Almost too close to call, but I'm not in a caramel mood today. Nestle Crunch gets my vote.

Reese's Pieces over Heath Bar. A Heath Bar sounds good right now, but I'll never turn down a bag of Reese's Pieces.

Some brutal matchups here.

Symphony over turtles
Mike and Ikes over rolos.

Those two decisions were easy as pie. Now it gets really tough.

Whatchamacallit over 100 Grand bar. Both quality...but the crisp and the peanut buttery goodness of the Whatchamacallit wins out here.

Milky Way over Crunch. I've loved Crunch bars since the moment I saw the kid eating one in Flight of the Navigator....but Milky Ways are just almost unbeatable.

This last matchup is the toughest. Sheesh. I love both candies.

Hmmm...

Give me...

Heath over Reese's Pieces..

NO! WAIT!....

Hmmm...

umm....yeah, I'll take the Heath Bar...and hope that someone shares a couple of their Reese's Pieces with me.

Turtles: Symphony is a fine bar, but the Turtle has that extra chocolatey swagger.

Rolo: Chocolate and caramel or shitty movie theater kids candy? Child, please.

Heat 7 was a bitch but in the end, I give it 100G. Both are comprised of the same elements, but the balance of 100 is superior.

Chocolate and Rice have been accounted for already in this heat. Winner = The Way, baby.

Reeses pieces are great, but after Skor was so mercilessly raped, Heath must soldier on and carry the flag.

Candylicious: Round 4, Heat Set 2

Turtles over Symphony. I'd be happy with either, but the choc/caramel/pecan combo is tough to beat.

Mike and Ike over Rolo. Again, I'd be happy with either. But right now I want fruity candy.

I hate you. Whatchamacallit, but 100 Grand is better than Mike and Ike, Rolos, Symohony, and Turtles.

Milky Way. Nothing wrong with Crunch, but it's a poor man's Krackel.

I hate you more now. I can't decide. A flip of the coin makes me vote for Reese's Pieces. Tim Bone, if you'll give me half your Heath, I'll give you half my Reese's Pieces.

Not true. Whatchamacallit has peanut flavor.

I'm not a big fan of Mike and Ike, but I'm tempted to vote for it just out of protest for the endless parade of chocolate/caramel/nut bars.

At least Starburst looks like it'll make it out of the other wave of heats.
