Candylicious: Round 1, Heats 29 through 32

Here are the rules. This will be a head to head tournament. For efficiency's sake, I will run four heats in each thread.

Therefore, I will put up four pairs of candies. For each pair, you will identify the candy that you would most like to have at the moment of voting. It doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite candy overall, just the one that sounds good right now. For visualization purposes, you may assume that you're out trick or treating (dressed as a gladiator), and the woman at the door is offering you your choice of two options. You can only pick one, or if you would turn them both down, you can pick zero (not to be confused with the Zero bar).

So to summarize, you will vote for four candies in each thread, one candy per heat. And here they are!

Heat 29: Mounds versus Spree

Heat 30: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups versus Red Licorice

Heat 31: Popcorn Balls versus Snickers

Heat 32: Sugar Daddy versus Riesen

My votes:

Mounds over Spree: I'm lukewarm on Spree. They are a poor man's Sweetwart. Mounds rules and is one of my favorites.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cup over Red Licorice. Licorice is kind of gross and peanut butter cups are awesome. Easy choice.

Snickers over Popcorn balls. Snickers is tough. I'm not sure what binds a popcorn ball.

Riesen over Sugar Daddy. I wasn't a huge fan of Sugar Daddies and haven't had one in years. Riesen, on the other hand, is a wow. Great stuff.

Same, except Spree over Mounds. It's not that I like Spree, it's that I don't like coconut (it's a texture thing).

And thank God licorice is going up against a behemoth like Reese's. Get that shit out of here early.

Red licorice, with brand names such as Twizzlers and RedVines, contain no licorice root extract like that which gives black licorice its flavor. The two are shaped the dame not not much else.

Both suck. Admittedly, Twizzlers and RedVines slightly less so that black licorice.

Snickers should win the whole thing.

I love popcorn balls, especially the homemade ones some of my neighbors hand out for Halloween. It is held together by sugar melted in butter and water.

Snickers is the Salma Hayek of this tourney. It's popular and has wide appeal, but it's not the best.

Spree is one of my favorites. I like Mounds, but much prefer Almond Joy.

I used to love Snickers, but now they seem too sweet. Still better than popcorn balls, though.

Butterfingers vs Reese's Cups for the title, with Butterfingers coming out on top. It's the only result that makes sense.

Still waiting for my pre-tourney fav to make an appearance in the bracket...
