Anyone else? Seems like we should get something beyond him.

Seems like it should have had some other prospects. But Bannister sure has looked good so I'll defer to them...

Dotel is what, 33ish? Has a history of injury problems? Still has yet to achieve 100 saves in his entire career?

And still is a better asset than this Davies kid is looking to be.

I hope I eat my words but either Dotel was way over-hyped or we got hosed.

You make no sense.

Dotel wouldn't have been around next year, so the only reason to keep him is to have him for the stretch run this season. Since they won't be contending, what's the point?

Some conjecture is that Dotel is willing to re-sign here in '08. So we'd rent him to Atlanta and then get him back later.

At the same time it's not exactly great to argue "hey since he isn't coming back take any scrub you can get" which is what your argument is...

I do make sense. It's called a contract extension.

Why would KC want a 34 year old closer next year? He might have been willing to re-sign, but would KC be willing to re-sign him?
