My Take
Richard Petty was the product of the best equipment to work with in his era, he also got alot of his wins at some questionable tracks...
Remember the last wreck Petty had that basically ended his career? The one at one of the road tracks?

Petty would suck if he was a driver in this era because he is a one foot driver, You have to be a two foot driver to compete in Nascar now, Danica would eat his lunch..

She is not a great driver but she is as good as any of the lower tier drivers in Nascar

You are both right. Yes Petty damn sure could drive and I am sure he would have adapted. He did however greatly benefit from often driving vastly superior equipment. The playing field has been leveled and it is much more competitive now. I do agree with his assessment of Patrick. She is nothing more than a gimmick that brings in sponsor dollars. It wasn't even close back then when it came to equipment.... Maurice had the money and the parts and it was alot easier to cheat then too.

I agree he probably could have adapted

Unfortunately, F1 has gone "green" and this year the races will likely be decided on fuel management. Throw in the fakeness of KERS, and they've pretty much destroyed the racing.
