notice in the video there is a chute from the building to the dumpster. so if in fact they were tossing that food they easily do it from inside and throw it down the chute.

given the whole 'troff' vs 'trough' discussion. I believe the proper spelling is "Shoot"

I hear ya. The first (and only) time I tried one I was expecting it to taste like pistachio flavored ice cream for some reason...I was pretty disappointed.

If I were to ever run a small place like that, I'd have a good sense of clean burned into my brain from that job.
That's exactly how the bar/grill was that I bartended at.

I used to think the owner was a Nazi when it came to cleaning, but looking back, he was a really good boss. He ran a tight ship, and if you were on board with it, he would go out of his way to help you/work with you etc.

This place was tiny; in the food court type place, but it was super efficient. everything made fresh, to order (no pre-cooked meat like Chartroose), fries, soup etc, fresh hand cut veggies and lettuce. Hard to find places like that anymore.

I worked two different fast food places when I was in high school - Wendy's and at a locally owned chain restaurant (Bob's Hamburgers). both were as you described. I never saw any of the nasty ass stuff you see posted here sometimes.

I did have a friend that worked an independent place by the freeway and he had some gross stories, like putting dead flies in someone that acted like an asshole's burger. I was never sure how true the stories were, though.

I worked at Wendys in High School. I was the prep guy in the back. The burger guys would throw burgers that got too dry into a five gallon bucket at their feet. Every couple of hours, I'd come get these buckets full of burgers and hardened grease and fat, and take them to the back to chop up for.....you guessed it, chili.

Yep, though it wasn't like the stuff was sitting by the dumpster. Our store had a refrigerated bin to put the burgers in until they became chili.

Dumbassery knows no bounds. If they follow correct food handling techniques it won't be an issue. Anyone who messes with someone's safety should be terminated at the least.

He had sold them one of their soft serve machines and they called to say it wasn't working. We went in to take a look, took the back panels off, and found hundreds of cockroaches inside the machine. He brought the manager over and goes "there's your problem" and we walked out of there. It closed around the same time most of the Hardees in the JoCo area went out of business in the mid 90's
