Chiefs Trade G Rishaw Johnson to Buccaneers for S Kelcie McCray

Buccaneers HC Lovie Smith announced Thursday that they have traded S Kelcie McCray to the Chiefs in return for G Rishaw Johnson, per the Pewter Report.

Johnson, 25, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania. he was reportedly competing with rookie Zach Fulton for the Chiefs right guard position.

There is no question the Buccaneers could use some extra depth at guard, which appears to be one of their biggest issues on their current roster.

Up in some areas and down in others. Wasnt that expected though? We knew guys like Jackson, McCluster, and Albert werent coming back. We figured somebody would get restructured or cut (Flowers) so we could have cap to extend our guys. Dorsey is taking the route teams like the Packers and Steelers take. We're supposed to have roughly 12 draft picks in the next draft. If guys like Catapano, Kelce, and other guys he's taken after round 1 show real promise this fan base should be ecstatic about that.

Another year in our systems will help a ton too. Let the line gel and get experience. Let our defense get healthy. Its still too soon to judge this years team.

You are talking about shit like Dee Ford improving the pass rush. He'll be on the field when one of Hali or Houston aren't. Unless you think he is better than one of them then he didn't improve shit. He's simply a replacement for one of them next season.

Other than Detroit and Cleveland sucking, anything can happen in any given NFL season. The Chiefs making the playoffs this year is a lot more likely than going 9-0 like they did last year. There's always hope.

We were damn lucky to be playing backups for most of those 9 games. The yin and yang of sports says we won't be quite so lucky this year.
