Aaron Murray as a Potential Romo Backup?

Ran across this article and thought I'd post it for your reading pleasure. Someone sure seems to like the potential upside of Mr Murray....

All of these people talking about skills and intangibles, none of that shit matters when you will never see the field. A 3rd rounder could help us elsewhere.
Yep, you gonna' need a 3rd if you can get it. Dorsey thrives in the middle.

This argument has been disproven countless times in the NFL.

Even the good teams aren't perfect in their talent evaluation, especially when things are that close between the two players. I don't blame the Chiefs at all for going with Daniel over Murray, but I also don't blame Murray for not beating out Daniel, because in order for coaches to ignore the experience, work, and contract for Daniel, Murray's got to REALLY outplay him.

You're right that Murray is far from a savior, but there's no reason why he can't be a starter one day in the NFL, even a mediocre one.

Murray made one the best throws I've ever seen from a KC QB last preseason....He's been in Reid's system for a few years and (I'm assuming) has learned from watching Smith (like it or not...he is an efficient, smart QB)

Why would they trade him after investing the time in developing him? Isn't this the same method GB used with Rodgers? He's looked promising in the limited time he's played.

I'm fairly sure, barring the availability of the next Luck or San Francisco treat, that Murray is your next full-time huckleberry. He was projected much higher in that draft prior to the injury, and he's shown some skill in his limited playing time.

The person that wrote this article hasn't really thought it through.

If you are the Chiefs and Murray has the kind of potential this guy thinks, you don't give up Murray for 3rd.

But if you are the Cowboys, you don't give up a 3rd for a 5th rounder that has yet to see live action in his two years.

Murray is probably JAG, and a 3rd would be good value for a 5th round pick who has just sat around for a couple years. I just don't think it gives us anything. Finding a decent prospect in the draft would cost us a third or so, and then it's someone else who has to come in and sit and learn.

If we had another prospect with some potential on the roster in addition to Murray, then sure. Take your two rounds worth of profit and go. In our case, it seems like taking on additional risk without much reward.

This is a ridiculous notion. The Chiefs aren't giving up Romo's "Heir Apparent" to Dallas for a 3rd round pick, anymore than Reid is a "QB Whisperer."

What's even more ridiculous is that Reid has absolutely fleeced every team that's involved one of his QB's so if Reid and Dorsey actually do trade Murray for a or higher, the odds are greatly in the Chiefs favor that Murray fails.

Either way, the writer is a moron.

Is Murray worth more to the Chiefs than the Cows are willing to offer? Chiefs should push for more than a 3rd if Murray is being groomed. If Murray is JAG, then take the pick.

Yep, either way i don't see how it works out.

Unless the Chiefs think he's a lifelong backup but Dallas thinks he's a starter-in-waiting.

This falls in line what I've been saying about Bray/Murray.

Murray isn't cutting it, while Bray must be crushing it when it comes it to the classroom

Someone ask this dipshit how this supports his stupidity, in any way?

I swear to God this dipshit has an IQ below 0.

What do you mean by "the way he appears screens bust"?

Could you break down the bustness in the pro day "film"?

Man, the point of my post completely flew over your head. Impressive.

If you think that the cost of an asset, in business, means anything when the market is apparently as high as this writer makes it appear, you'd be screwing yourself receiving a third rd pick.
