Go on Record: Predict the Punishment for Deflategate

So we've all talked about what we think the punishment will be for Deflategate. What do you think WILL be the punishment? Will the Kraft/Goodell relationship come to fruition? Will the be pounded as multiple offenders? Will they get the Saints treatment?

My official prediction: Brady gets a $500,000 fine. Belichick gets $250,000. Loss of a fifth round draft pick for the organization.

Honestly, I think the NFL could have gotten away with a light penalty for the Pats, except for the fact that Kraft won't shut the **** up. He's making the situation worse for Goodell which is a shitty thing to do to a guy who has been a strong loyalist for years.

The opening Thursday night game featuring the Pats all but rules out a Brady suspension. Laughable.

absolutely.

If Brady had just said "i take responsibility. I wanted the psi of the footballs to be on the lowest possible end of legal. If the footballs went beyond that then it's my fault and i apologize."

League fines Brady whatever and the case is over

but noooooooooooooooo, Brady has to go full Vinnie Barbarino and try to deny everything.

Last time it happened, they had one lf the easiest schedules ever. Their division played two terrible divisions (including the AFC West). IIRC, three teams in that division won at least 10 games that year. I'm actually fairly interested to see how BB does without Brady against a decent schedule.

EDIT: I just googled it, two teams won eleven games, the third place team won nine games, and the Bills also managed to make it just one game short of .500.

And Kraft goes on his second "how ****ing dare you" tantrum in the public eye. Pissed off that the NFL would even dare even investigate the situation. He is basically daring the NFL to lay the hammer down.

We'll see. I know when [name withheld] missed a season his team was so bad they got Andrew Luck. Belichick alone at this point is probably worth 6 wins

That's why if they suspend Brady for any amount of time.....the Pats also need to lose at least their 1st round draft pick. I'd love to see them have their #1 pick taken away....and they end up with the 1st overall pick.

Probably so. I'll tell you what though, I can't get that moment out of my head during this year's SB. At the end of the game when Seattle looked like they were about to score the go ahead TD, and Bill couldn't decide whether or not to call a sinpme timeout. Instead he just sat there with a dumb look on his face. Of course he was bailed out by a bad play call on Seattles end, so no one remembers that Bill flubbed that up anymore.

I didn't see that as a brain fart. To me that looked like bling egoism mixed with frustration...

I can't see them suspending Brady for A game. He should be, but it would be bad for the league. They'll find a way to spin it where Brady apologizes for misinterpreting a rule and he's put on double secret probation and the officials will not be allowed to let footballs out of sight and blah blah blah

Now, if Cam Newton was the center of this? Easy suspension.

That wont happen..as far as I can tell...this is on Brady. Unless they determine that Belichick knew at any point they were deflating balls. The RBs/WRs/center had to have known the balls were light...I'm sure there was talk of it on the sidelines.

SHould sit 8 games to discourage meddling with the game.

Will get a $50,000 fine and no suspension...
