There is nothing definitive in this report, correct?
Nothing will happen and shouldn't happen until there is concrete evidence of something happening.

I love that people aren't hammering the advantage a softer ball give to aging hands.

Brady suspended for the 2nd half of the first preseason game, and will have to host a sleepover for Goodell, and Mark Davis to include lots of Victoria's Secret models, and Gronk muscle flexing...

Preponderance of evidence is what is needed based on NFL rules, and that just happens to be exactly what this report provides. They don't need "concrete evidence".

Considering the punishments the NFL has handed out before, this one should include fines and suspensions to Brady and BB. The team should also be fined and some loss of draft picks. But we all know this isn't going to happen to the league's golden boy and the genius coach. My guess is the equipment guys will be suspended for the season.

100,000 dollar fine for Patriot's organization
1-game commissioner's list suspension for Brady(meaning he gets paid) NFLPA won't allow anything else to happen A player could go on a rampage in the infant wing of a hospital. He could kill 100's of newborns, WITH video proof, and the player's union would still protect him.

Execution of 100 random Bostonian Pats fans before the league opener. Tom Brady has to pull the trigger.

Investigator "When you picked up the balls where did you go?"
Deflator "Straight to the field." Investigator "We have a video tape of you going into a bathroom with the balls." Deflator "Oh yeah, I had to use the urinal." Investigator "That bathroom doesn't have a urinal." Deflator "Toommm. I need some maw size 11 kicks. I'm getting' nehvous."

I predict the NFL will overreach on the punishment, and then the unions will bring the penalty down. I can't even imagine the fury of the Saints, Vikings, and Ravens if they do anything less. |

I think we're all kidding ourselves if we think Goodell isn't going to be the main guy to decide the punishment. Again, like Ray Rice and AP, he will probably overreach on the punishment to make a statement, and then the unions will force that penalty down. In this case, it's probably his best play because the unions will ultimately get the penalty right while Goodell doesn't come off looking like a Kraft crony.

The NFL has to determine the validity of it's rulebook. If there is no discipline..then organizations/individual players can pick and choose which rule they feel like following.
It's not about how serious deflating a football is.. it's about a deliberate attempt to circumvent a rule then lying about it. |
