Dorsey vs Pioli, What Say You Now?

It's been a rather interesting couple of weeks. I think it started with the Houston situation where a bunch of you folks felt that Dorsey was a doofus because he didn't lock Houston up last year. Then, I heard, Dorsey sucked because he overpaid Bowe. Then, at least initially, the sky was falling because he didn't wrap up Hudson last year. Then, he had the audacity to sign Mauga and Avant.

Now, we hear that guys are cutting their salaries in order to play for (can you believe it) the Chiefs!

Wasn't much of that happening back when Scooter was chasing candy wrappers, shutting blinds and placing the entire organization on Matt Cassel's rather narrow shoulders.

So, I ask, what say you now? (This is where you can actually say GOOD things about the guys running this outfit now.)

DeVito, Fasano, Avery, Davis, Cooper and that's just off the top of my head.

Jaye Howard is another.

****in' A, Dude. Shut the **** up. You've been embarrassing yourself, repeatedly, all off season.

Do you ever watch the games?

I just don't see this.

There isn't a bunch of talent being added.

Our HC and DC have done an outstanding job of squeezing blood from a stone. They've taken scrubs and castoffs and found a way to win.

We didn't add good cheap players - we added scrubs - and our coaches found a way to win games DESPITE losing talent...

Do you?

Fasano, Avery, and Cooper were shit. Cooper was so bad last year he was benched. People were begging to cut that garbage ass Fasano that added nothing.

These are scrubs. Cooper is young and still has a chance to become something but just about everyone you mentioned is gone or benched...because they sucked...

Then please explain 2-14 to 11-5 when half the starters were replaced.

Sean Smith, Cooper, Fasano, Avery - are you saying they weren't contributors? Schwartz got a $4.5 million dollar deal after his one year stint with the Chiefs.

Demps? Who the **** was Will Demps before 2013 and why did he get more than $2 million from the Giants after his year in KC?

What the **** man? What the **** are you watching on your 19" Sony Trinitron that I can't see on my Sony 70" 4K?

I said before last season I thought the plan was to compete in 2015 ... I knew last year was going to be a throw away year and I think that was the plan all along ... the fact we went 9-7 after losing all of those players was pretty awesome, actually (despite the late season choke jobs).

I said it before the Maclin signing ... this team is going to win 10-13 games this year (I'm thinking 11 or 12) and it's going to make a lot of people upset. Hilarious that winning games upsets people.

I know, I know ... Alex Smith. I don't know what Dorsey was thinking when he took over a team with Cassel and Brady Quinn and didn't immediately go out and acquire an Aaron Rodgers ... moron !!!111

Travis Kelce might be a pro bowler next season.
Knile Davis has been a rock when Jamaal gets dinged up.
De'Anthony Thomas will be a key part of our O/Special teams going forward.
Ron Parker for as much shit as he gets, was solid at safety.
Fulton started 16 games and had a decent season.
Fisher did improve a bit last season (not saying much), but hopefully he strives this season.
Gaines could be a starter next season.
Wilson will see the field plenty next season.
Sherman is one of the best.

Dorsey has had 2 drafts. One of Piolis many ****ups was ignoring the importance of depth and role players. That's been one of the main things Dorsey has been addressing since he's been here. If he hits on this next draft & fixes the OL this team should win the west next season assuming Alex doesn't play like the bitch he was last season.

Cooper had a good rookie year and played like a rookie FA last year.

I can't believe you want to defend Avery and Fasano. Terrible signings.

Smith, Schwartz, A. Smith. Solid.

We have contributors. We need playmakers. DJ is a playmaker. Berry. Houston. Hali. Charles.

Those guys are good players. How many of those players did we add the last two years? Possibly one in Kelcee?

And you expect me to defend some idiot team overspending for our scrubs? You wan't me to explain bad FA signings? Parker will get over paid this offseason as well.

Our coaches took a bunch of scrubs and coached them up. Put them in the right positions to be successful.

Somehow, in your mind, that's being negative...

I'd sure as **** take them over Ryan Grigson, who's proven to be a gigantic pile of whale lard, or those ****tards in San Francisco, who have destroyed their franchise, or the dummies in San Diego, Cleveland, NY Jet, Oakland, Jacksonville, Charlotte, Chicago, Tennessee, Washington, Atlanta or Tampa Bay.

Out of all of the recent changes made in the past four years, I think the Chiefs have the best chance of rising about and making a real charge towards the Super Bowl. Not every decision has worked out but they're well above .500, IMO, with a critical draft just weeks away.

It's way too soon to say they've blown it, yet that doesn't stop people from saying it.
I'm not saying they've blown it, or that they've done a horrible job. I'm just not ready to crown their asses yet.

Getting a team with Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Dontari Poe, Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, Branden Albert, and Rodney Hudson was, by no means, an unenviable position. I won't even count DJ and Berry due to their injury concerns.

The 2012 Chiefs finishing 2-14 was an aberration thanks to some unfortunate in-game luck and a gestapo culture that the excision of Pioli would have improved for anyone else walking through the door that wasn't from the same bankrupt NE cabal.

FA is the season of perpetual hope. Every team outside of San Fran is probably crowing about the improvements they've made (or will make) right now.

And let's be honest, if you are chastising people for perpetual negativity you should also be prepared to evaluate your own tendency for overrating this team significantly, as you did in 2012.

In the NFL, the difference between 10-6 and 6-10 is just variance. I haven't seen anything to make me think they are significantly better than that.

(oh, look there, shit isn't filtered. So it's not filter evasion.)

Even though Pioli drafting b/u players, on purpose, because he felt we'd reached that point was dumb and exactly what we've been doing the last two years.

Trading for someone else's questionable b/u QB was stupid before but now it's building a team.
Drafting players you know won't start - now looking towards the future.
Letting talent walk because they're over paid/contract demands aren't cap friendly.

This is classic Peterson, Pioli, and now Dorsey. The dumbassery hasn't changed - just the attitude of the people watching the same old thing...

OMG you have lost your mind.

Alex isn't a top notch QB, but he isn't a backup either. What on earth were the Chiefs supposed to do? Keep Cassel? Draft Geno? OH yeah. Looks like they are both going to be competing for the same team this year because they both suck.

Drafting players you know won't start? Well, yeah, thats kinda what drafting players is all about. Finding talent to replace the players you think won't be there in the future.

And letting talent walk? Do you pay attention to the rest of the NFL at all? Not one team can keep all of their great players.

Ravens are likely going to let Haloti Ngata walk.
Cowboys are likely going to let DeMarco Murray go
Lions are likely going to let Suh go
Broncos are likely going to let J. Thomas go

Quit bit chin and have some fun with the FACT that the Chiefs are a good team.

So when we pick up guys for cheap and get production out of them, the GM shouldn't get credit for finding these guys because it's all the coaches that get the production out of them?
