For the record, I don't believe kes in any way meant to cut jeffs tire, nor did he wreck him. I understand you as a jeff guy feeling that way.

I take Jeff at his word that had kes been a man and talked to him, that they wouldn't of fought.

Kes has to grow up.

I really don't have that big of an issue with that mix up. It is just a build up of several things. He is a very talented driver and style wise reminds me of Harvick when he was younger. Harvick has mellowed out a lot and so will Brad~

Not any time soon! It's obvious the Frances are actually loving the attention NASCAR is getting form this (the whole, "there is no bad press" concept), and I think they'll let it go on for a while until enough drivers make a mockery of the sport, even if just one race, to "call them out" for being hypocrites when "they" do it..

As long as it's one driver, maybe two, three on the outside, they'll let it go. Now if you find 7, 8 or 9 drivers doing it, then they'll act surprised, say it's something different that "what had happened" (other than the date), and demand the drivers drive more gently. Have a few rich teams put the less well-off teams in the financial hurt-locker by bending some frames and leaving their $250K cars a total mess, and you MIGHT have your best shot at that NASCAR governing body epiphany happening sooner than later.

I would disagree but with the new format of a win and your in and a win and you advance it has changed the game. Harvick came in due to Dales death and had remarkable success leading up to it. He continued to have success early on and I feel took the mindset he was the new Dale. He was over aggressive and flat out arrogant. He quickly made enemies by showing nobody any respect including accomplished veterans.

He had issues with his own teammates to the point they were racing each other so hard on a handful of occasions it cost RCR some top finishes as well as wins. I would guess Richard Childress sat the guy down and had a come to Jesus meeting with him. I am thankful Richard saw what I saw which is a very talented driver who just needed some maturity. I also suspect Harvick figure out having multiple enemies every week was not a good idea.

This new format negates the natural maturation process. It's wreck to win baby! Ratings and scrubs after the race! **** the code it's all star wrestling! This shit has a market of clueless nitwits as displayed in my exchanges in this thread~

I like aggressive racing and have no issue with the old bumper horn when someone is blocking. I have no issue with holding your ground and trading paint. I do not agree with wrecking someone on purpose to win~
Ah, but you forget one, one very important factor about those early all-star races and how teams were financially structured. While there was corporate sponsorship of racing during the earlier years. It did not pay all the needed expenses the top teams desired. Not really until the early to mid 90's did we see huge contracts in stock car racing. Corporate sponsorship now can run into 30 million dollars per year for top teams. Even using comparative figures of todays dollars vs. then. Race teams did not receive the financial backing they do now. So those race day paydays meant a bit more than the competively watered down all-star races of today.

As far as Bill Elliott complaining about Earnhardt not racing him clean. Bill turned Geoff Bodine, banged into Earnhardt a few times. Of course he was going to complain. He was the loser. So what he got pinched in turn 1.

I don't disagree with you that anyone should just be wrecking a cars. But where me and you seem to disagree is how hard one can race another.

I go back to the days of Rudd and company, so I'm not as old as some, but older than most.

Just make sure you keep your girlie mouth shut next time one of the HMS guys, especially Jeff, puts anybody in the wall.

As for France, I recommend he follow the advice I just gave you and make sure he keeps his ****ing mouth shut as this style of driving get more prevalent. HMS will do fine because they have the cash to spend through this era, many of the other teams (and their sponsors) might find replacing their cars every week is a bit spendy for their credit card... So I'm all for it at this point, especially if it allows me to tell folks to shut up as they prove themselves to be hypocrites...

Just remember, stay quiet and remind us that you like this form of racing when the rich kids start pulling the same thing and bouncing the smaller teams off the walls.
I don't worship anything. It is not that any of the drivers can't win my favor. I am just a stock car racing fan. I like many drivers. Some more than others. But not any driver I could pick and say that is the driver I follow more than the next.

I liked Ricky Rudd. He was a scraper on the track.

You won't find me complaining about anyone racing someone hard.

You said NASCAR hadn't said anything about it. I just pointed out that the CEO and Chairman Brian France had done so.

Again, I like stock car racing. If I didn't want to see fenders rubbing from time to time, I would be a bigger fan of open wheel racing.
