And that mentality isn't going to change at this point in his career. Much as I had hoped Andy Reid would turn him around.
You make a GREAT point, he only seems to play well when the game is tight. Maybe it's Reid that is the problem because he's trying to have Smith fit into his mold. Whatever it is, they arent compatible for each other in that situation. Time to fix that shit.

Maybe it's time for Reid to mix-up the play calling and be more aggressive rather than asking Smith to play his conservative game when they're up 2 scores. More of a BB /Pats mindset.

Agreed.

While Smith bears a good share of the blame, some of our issues stem from Andy taking his foot off the pedal. We already have a conservative QB... there is very little need to tell him to back off.

Still gotta say something negative about him, to keep with the thread and all, so...

The only reason that this fanbase even remotely tolerates Alex Smith is because he is the best QB this team has had since Trent Green.

He is better than Huard, Thigpen, Croyle, and Cassel. Yay.

Yes Alex Smith doesn't suck as much as those guys but he still sucks enough not to be good.

I agree about Andy taking his foot off the pedal

But even with that there are times when there are open guys and Alex doesn't get them the ball

In the case of the playoff game hitting one of those would have most likely lead to a win but we got nothing but anther L

The kindest thing I can say about his athletic prowess is that he is an above average QB.

I can't believe there are people that defend a quarterback that threw for the same amount of touchdowns as Brock ****ing Osweiler this year.

Actually, we are the Chiefs and I can believe it.

For sure. Alex climbs the ladder through his progressions but is largely incapable of going back through them when all the first reads are covered... even when he has ample time.

It was one thing to defend him when we had Bowe and garbage to throw to

But Kelce,Maclin and Hill there are a lot of QBs out there that could make that work. Alex didn't

**** Alex Smith

I wonder how many games it takes before he is concussed again my guess 5 or 6 and I hope we have a pretty good draft pick prospect in the wings that can get his cherry popped and shows we don't need Alex anymore.

**** Alex Smith

You can spell out the word ****. If you are on a filtered featured it will just automatically do this **** otherwise you are manipulating the filter system and the mods frown on that just FYI.

Say **** you will be ok.

Scroll down to the very very bottom off the page and click on the thing that gives you options of what feature you would like to set your CP on. Full Featured (unfiltered) is what you want. Check them all out and see what you like best.

Also are you Alex Smith dad?

You seem upset at all the Alex Smith hate.
