You're the one backtracking, but whatever. Suffice to say the Patriots are carrying dead money as a result of the trade, but the net effect is salary cap savings.

So here are your two quotes. First, the cap hit. Second, the comment that it's "impactful", followed by noting that Chiefs fans are "panicked" about their salary cap situation for next year. And you don't think that suggests Patriots fans should be similarly concerned about their "cap situation for next year" based on the "impactful" "$4 million cap hits"? You don't think that suggests that the Patriots took a NET cap hit, rather than getting cap savings as a result of the trade? You don't think that is misleading/confusing? My reading skills aren't what need work -- it's your pathetic communication skills. The reality is that the Patriots FREED up $7 million for next year which can be thrown at a Revis or whatever. Sure, they need to pay some guy to replace Mankins (and/or take that 51st spot on the roster) which offsets a whopping $500K of the salary cap space freed, but that's still a crapload of sheckles that they can throw at someone else. It certainly isn't NEGATIVELY IMPACTFUL, as you suggest, which should result in worrying about the Pats cap situation. You should stop while you're far, far, behind, before you get lost forever.

Will this guy shut up already? Literally the most annoying mother ****er on Chiefs Planet. You make Clay's Alex Smith rants about as intriguing as a titty sucking convention.

Whether you like it or not, trading Mankins accelerates his bonuses, and that puts that money on the cap. That's 8+ million. I showed how that dead money would hit the cap, depending on how the team broke it down. I made no comment about net, at all, and reinforced that point in responding to one of your later posts, so how the **** do you get to claiming I suggested anything about net? As for the Chiefs, feel free to read some threads around here. You'll find that the theme is "Not enough room to sign Houston, Berry and Smith". Now, their situation is not the Patriots situation, but it serves as an example of how cap space can make an impact, which is how it was used. Again, you ****ing homers don't bother reading. |

Patriots always do this, they get rid of star players right before they decline and get better value in a relatively high draft pick. TH\hat's how they remain good for so long, they do almost anything that'll help them stock up on picks.

Yeah, I know. And yet the Patriots have ~$6 million more in cap room today than they did before the trade yesterday. Which is the entire point -- you ignored that fact like it didn't even exist.
