Don't want to read too much into the conversation but just watched Andy on M&M this morning and he made it clear that Alex was the QB. Mentioned that he could still play, was at the Pro Bowl (), and can do all the things he wants his guy to do.

In essence, we can put any talk of Tony Romo, Nick Foles, or any other retread to bed. But, they did talk about college system QBs briefly (no one specific), and he said that as long as they feel like a guy can learn, it is their job to transition a college system QB and that it doesn't effect their decision on which type to take.

So, will we draft a QB? Idk, my bet is on yes since Foles is apparently gone.

Alex was the 14th highest paid QB last year and was bottom of the barrel in yards and TD's.

Denver's 7th rd QB put up similar numbers and only made 538k

Here's the bottom line for me, until we find a QB who is GUARANTEED to beat Brady reliably by himself, the rest is just grousing about fate.

No use wailing and gnashing teeth over Alex. He's not so expensive that the team suffers and we won't cost you games.

All this agita about elite? franchise? mediocre? serviceable? awful? is a waste of time.

Either you can smoke Brady, or you cannot smoke Brady. And good luck with all that.

I'm not some blind apologist, just a realist about 1) how interconnected team success is [regardless of how some think everything hinges on the QB] and 2) how rare the elite QB is.

Now, if you want to have a conversation about scout and trainers. We can talk.

QB is the only position that touches the ball on every single play... sure, teams are interconnected, but the role of a QB is outsized and we all know this

Smiff has quite simply peaked, in order to beat Brady in the AFCCG you first have to get to the AFCCG... and Alex isnt taking us there

I'm sick and tired of watching that guy leave big plays on the field in favor of the safe and short throws his arm works best for

I know it's spilled milk at this point, but it sure would've been nice to see this team with a healthy Charles the last couple of seasons...No doubt we would've been more effective on offense.

The Chiefs offense was no more effective with Charles than without him in 2014.

In fact, they had the #1 ranked running game by DVOA standards in 2015.

It did us no good.
