Retro Gaming

Didnt see a thread dedicated to retro gaming so i thought Id start one.

Im a huge retro gaming buff. I have most of the mainstream old school systems (had a TG16 with a CD drive but regretably sold it; plan on buying a new one when i have the $$$), from NES to Genesis to Saturn to N64. Basically anything Dreamcast and before.

Use this thread for game discussions/console debates etc.

Im personally looking for hidden NES gems, and I know theres a lot of them. Seems like ya'll are very familiar with the system so I'll be looking forward to your suggestions.

I like James and Mike Mondays to play in the background while I'm at work. It gives me the illusion that I'm actually having fun.

I like that the graphics include arcade cabinet art to soak up some of the black space around the screen. do most arcade games have that or is it limited to the games with black backgrounds?

Solstice on NES was one of my favorite games back in the day. It was a pretty tough puzzle game but extremely satisfying when you beat it. This was before the internet so you couldn't go find the answers on some website, everything was trial and error. Plus the music was really good too.

that's just the front end program (Hyperspin). You see similar for most all the games as you cycle through each one, before selecting one to play.

It's fan art.

The oldest arcade games will not take up the entire screen. But NES and above typically do.
