The problem with that is the traffic is a negative type and the discussion is non existent.

But seriously, megathreads need to die for the most part.
They move too fast for someone who doesn't have the time to check Chiefsplanet constantly. |

You and Iowanian have been posting several articles in their own threads. Some of those have gotten some good action. I think it's more a sign of the times at the moment. As Im sure I don't need to mention, we've sucked for quite some time now. There's only so many times you can dissect the footwork of a middling LT before you realize it ultimately won't matter in the grand scheme of things. We start winning games, people start getting interested again, good discussion returns. |

Think about it Without a working 'search' tool for threads, how in the hell is creating more threads for things to get buried inside any kind of solution? There should literally be ZERO chiefs related mega threads unless its a really obscure topic or something.... I mean even IF we had a search function , I still dont like megathreads..they are lame...but without a search tool...come on man. So , getting rid of EVERY chiefs related megathread would probably help (IMO)...the other thing is possibly adding another subforum for non-chiefs topics that are talked about alot.. for example:
Clearly you could do more or less subforums, and I actually think that its a decent balance usually of NFL/chiefs stuff and non chiefs stuff on the front page but doing these minor tweaks and no more could be just the slight push we need to see more chiefs content at the 'top' of the heap. I actually like the fact that non chiefs stuff gets a chance to be on the top of the heap so I wouldnt go overboard in creating new subforums, but mayve just enforce the 'media' subforum a little more and maybe create a 'other' sports category for stuff like wwe wrestling and baseball and hockey and basketball etc

Articles in their own threads tend to steer the conversation to just that subject.

I'm guessing these other sites are comprised of people who are more excited about the Chiefs and that generates more/different Chiefs discussions.
The only options it appears is more moderation to improve Chiefs discussion or the Chiefs do things on the field that compel people here to improve Chiefs discussion. |

I certainly understand and agree with the "megathreads suck" vibe, but I hesitate to call a ban of them a solution. If they weren't meeting a need of at least some, they wouldn't stay on the front page. Not sure what kind of balance can be found there unfortunately.

The casual posters (some of whom were decent) can't really get involved in the megathreads. Also, the megathreads end up devolving into the petty beefs that dominate CP (which isn't totally a bad thing, but it does ruin it for the casual poster or someone who doesn't want to bring the beef). |

This place would be just another homer board, and that would suck. You have to have the negative, because it maintains balance. |

Trolls and Chiefs megathreads should come to an end.
Troll thread basically is knowmo posting a bunch of dumb shit, posters going well look at this troll not gonna fall for it and they take his bait and it happens again. Megathreads typically stunt discussion and anything meaningful quickly gets lost. |

I won't participate in Chiefs discussion anymore. The doom and gloom Chiefs suck and Alex Smith trolls ruin shit.
The arguments get really lame. Reading over and over the same diatribe of "you all will see, we will suck again this year" runs rampant. |

Oh, has anyone suggested ending mega-threads?
Do it, please. |

I wish we could have one thread where the trolls wouldn't saturate it with their lame agenda driven garbage to the point where it just becomes a bitchfest.
