Momma said these were magic shoes

Just bought these kicks, time for the gym. What shoes do you like for walking/running?

Are Asics any good? I was going to buy some, but wanted to get some opinions. I want to try different brands, Nikes are high, but worth the money. If I can get a similar, liable comfortable shoe for a cheaper price I'm all for it. The total for these were $140, which is usually in the ball park.

What do you guys prefer? Nikes? Pumas? Asics? Under Armor?

Oh, they will last a long time on regular everyday use. If you are running 5 times a week though, I would expect about 6-8 months out of them.

If you're spending that kind of jack you might as well have some Asics, Brooks, or Mizuno.

Still haven't seen any mention of Saucony. Guess that's because their quality is way down. I have a pair now that I am really wishing I had never purchased. They used to be top of the line.

Brooks or an upper end Mizuno. Nikes are shit unless they're cross-trainers, baseball or basketball shoes.

I was considering a pair of these, Saucony Men's 'ProGrid Echelon 2' Technical Running Shoes. Debating on these based on the recommendation of http://www.runnersworld.com/shoeadvisor

If you're going to be doing a lot of running, you really need to go to a running store and get fitted. Getting the right kind of shoe for your natural biomechanics is pretty important if you want to avoid injury.

If they're more of a cross-training shoe and you're occasionally jogging, it's less of a deal.

In the last 3 or 4 years I've probably owned about 8 pairs of Brooks Adrenaline's. Great shoes. I've tried Asics, they seem to be good quality, but they weren't for me. I had a pair of Saucony Kinvara Progrid's that I really liked. They seemed to wear pretty quickly, but that can be understood since they're sorta "minimalist". Currently rocking some Newton's, and I LOVE them:
