Candylicious: Round 1, Heats 29 through 32

Here are the rules. This will be a head to head tournament. For efficiency's sake, I will run four heats in each thread.

Therefore, I will put up four pairs of candies. For each pair, you will identify the candy that you would most like to have at the moment of voting. It doesn't necessarily have to be your favorite candy overall, just the one that sounds good right now. For visualization purposes, you may assume that you're out trick or treating (dressed as a gladiator), and the woman at the door is offering you your choice of two options. You can only pick one, or if you would turn them both down, you can pick zero (not to be confused with the Zero bar).

So to summarize, you will vote for four candies in each thread, one candy per heat. And here they are!

Heat 29: Mounds versus Spree




Heat 30: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups versus Red Licorice




Heat 31: Popcorn Balls versus Snickers




Heat 32: Sugar Daddy versus Riesen

Peanuts are the least delicious nut. Any candy bar made with peanuts would instantly be made better with almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, or pistachios. Reece's almond butter cups would triumph over the peanut butter version.

I'm shocked that Spree and Sugar Daddies are making it half a contest. Mounds and Riesens are easy top ten and may well be final four.

Throw in peanut butter cups and this heat is full of powerhouses.

Upon reviewing the nominations, the aforementioned nomination was discovered. Under presumptive tournament law, it was assumed that the question was a preemptory inquiry into the allowability of nominating popcorn balls, and that an affirmative response would have resulted in the submission of an official photograph. Because the question was not answered, it was deemed reasonable that the lack of response could have been deemed negative, which would have negated the imperative to submit an official nomination photograph, or at the very least could have had a stultifying effect on the intention to submit an official nomination photograph. With regard to branding and prominent maker inquiry, it was deemed that the aforementioned food could be deemed a candy due to the important differentiating sweet binder ingredient, and a cursory search using widely accepted internet search techniques revealed that the product is both relatively standardized in ingredients and available in a packaged form that would allow for mass distribution and retail availability. In light of these facts, it was deemed that the aforementioned food passes all three tests: it is a candy, it is nationally available, and it likely would have been nominated pending a prompt reply to the initial eligibility inquiry, quid pro quo and habeas corpus per the sixth amendment.
