I think Zarda tastes like they bought lunch meat at Hy-Vee and threw it on a smoker for 30 minutes.
and they're fried mushrooms, while delicious, aren't worth the price since you get about 7 of them. I have a Zarda about 2 miles from me (if that) and I won't go there. been disappointed way too many times to even **** with it any more.

Back in the 1980s large beef sandwich and a side of beans would satisfy my fix.

I always recommend Wabash BBQ in Excelsior Springs, Rosedale and Smokehouse in Gladstone.

Who is Oklahoma Joes? Does he have to drive to OK to get that. Maybe your talking about Joe's KC BBQ?

It's pretty good - I'm proud to say both me and COMO both bused tables there - although me much earlier than him.
Legit salad bar Deep fried cauliflower Excellent smoked ham (sliced VERY thin) Sauce is straight, though Gates is much better, still decent though. |

Zarda always held it's own in CP BBQ polls IIRC.
I mean - it gets whooped by about three places - but it's above two bbq joints, maybe. Last edited by Simply Red; 08-29-2014 at 11:32 PM.. |

I put Zarda above Arthur Bryants but below Joes KC, Gates , Jack Stack, Smoking Joes, Johnnys - but Smoke (off of Ridgeview and K10) - Was my least fav. BBQ in KC by far

Good: Ribs, coleslaw
Bad: A man with a mustache tried to touch me in the restroom.
