ChiefsPlanet How can we improve Chiefs discussion around here? - Page 13

I've mentioned my disappointment in the quality of discussion in a few threads lately, but figured it's worth a more meta discussion to figure out 1) if I'm alone in this perception and 2) if there's anything that can be done about it.

Back in the old days, I walked 20 miles to school in the snow uphill both ways!

Err...wait. I mean, ChiefsPlanet was THE place where I got my Chiefs news. If an article was worth reading on another site, it was linked here. If there was a tweet with Chiefs news, it was posted here 30 seconds after it hit Twitter. If someone said something worthwhile on the radio, someone would post about it on here. And (with all due respect to those who like megathreads), you could glance at the front page and have a pretty decent idea of what the big news was for the day.

After returning home from the boonies on Sunday morning, however, I honestly had no idea how the game Saturday even went. I ended up visiting Arrowhead Pride and Chiefs Digest just to get a feel for what went down. Am I the weird one for thinking that that sucks?

Anyway, just figured it's worth the discussion. If it turns out that everyone is pretty content the way things are, I'll just bookmark some other resources and move on with life. But if I'm not alone, what can we do to make things better?

I love this place, and the freedoms you all give us...

I recognize and respect my ideas may be wrong and I am a total newcomer..

But I am passionate about the Chiefs and the Planet so I am just trying to throw out my 2 cents and help, if I can. I appreciate this board and the people who make it happen and I truly think that no matter what we wouldnt be having this group conversation if we weren't all raw with frustration from 20+ years of playoff fail. I am optimistic that we will win a playoff game and have some good seasons..

Pain makes joy even sweeter. Its one thing I know in my gut and from living life. Wont it be sweet when we finally hit pay dirt.

I'm a fan of Mega threads, but just because something is in a Mega thread doesn't mean it can't be given it's own thread as well. AND when someone does create another thread, we don't need people bitching about it, "Err it's in the megathread, herp derp".

When i joined this forum 10 years ago, it was a one stop shop for everything Chiefs related.

I didn't need to go to KC Star, or Kcchiefs.com or arrowhead pride etc.

It was all posted HERE.

We need to get back to that.

I've stopped linking a lot of articles, because of bitching that it's fluff or in simple terms "they don't know shit from shinola" type of snarky comments.

2013 was the #1 season...I dont think we have changed THAT much since 2013 as a board...

I don't know that this graph proves anything really other than 2013 and 2009 were the most interesting / talked about seasons.

Also, it's good to have content but people here get indignant when you don't post a full article which generally cuts out revenue for whomever wrote said article.
