Go into your router settings and blacklist those 2 IP ranges. Then it will work for all devices on your network.

Not sure about Hulu. But maybe. The link says this.

TWC is throttling downloads from servers (CDN) that host cached videos. By rejecting these IP address ranges you will force the video to be served to you directly.

I'm curious as to how you found it. I posted this thread a couple weeks ago, thinking it was pretty cool.. and I assumed once something's off the first page of the "Media Center" (without a reply)... it's a lost cause.

Today I was actually googling for this very thing. No luck. I couldn't remember where I had seen it. Until he bumped it and I was saved~

it also helps if you open ports 80 and 8080 on your router also.

WTF dude? No. Hell no! Don't manually open either of those ports. Who the hell told you that?

Port 80 is the access point for just about every type of malware invented. Leaving that port open all the time is like having a big red pointing sign saying "**** up my computer please." Internet worms and malware actively scan IPs to see if this port is open, and when it finds one it wiggles right inside very easily.

The only reason you should ever ever consider doing such a thing is if you are hosting web based stuff on your computer to serve to the world. And even then, you better have a shit ton of security measures in place. Otherwise there is no reason at all to do that. Generally even that isn't necessary because the computer automatically opens that port to incoming traffic when it's needed, when you have something to host, like a web server. But you absolutely do not want it open other than that. In fact, many ISPs automatically block all incoming traffic to port 80 for their customers, for these exact reasons.

If this is a joke, it's not very funny. You could seriously **** up people's computers recommending something like this.
