Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

There just has to be.

Whats being overlooked is that maybe Reid watched the film and he thought our window with Hali/Charles/DJ/Flowers/Berry was only 3 years. He went with someone he thought would win now. Maybe he thought Geno was a 2-3 year prospect to get up to Pro Bowl level and then the defense is aging.

And also always follow the money. A starting QB in the NFL for $7.5 million a year for two years is cheap.

Wait, have you watched the Eagles the last 2 years? If Vick and the Dream Team was better than Alex shouldn't they win more games?

Vick has ample talent around him and can't even make the playoffs.

Give him 10 years - he'll still be a shitty QB. He's a worse Terrell Pryor.

Well, being a Florida fan, I can't imagine you are biased at all, but I know he's not great right now.

He's a nice developmental round 2 guy, bout the same as a rough around the edges Kapernick.

You'll never know. The QB could be someone not known, this draft, or next. You could land your very own gem in the rough with a trade up like the 49ers did for CK. One never knows what will happen, until it dose. The points i am trying to make is, you should not be ready for mass suicide with a new regnum before they even get to show you plans on the field, and future.

IIRC we really liked Wilson at the SR bowl and he likely won't go til the 3rd now, so there is that.

I liked Ponder (as a potential 3rd or 4th round pick, not #12 overall) when he was coming out. I've raved about Xavier Rhodes. It has nothing to do with him playing for florida state and everything to do with him being a terrible QB.

Comparing him to Kaepernick is

What's done is done. The difference is, I'm not bummed about Palmer being our quarterback.

Athletically, he's not a long ways off. He's a big developmental guy. At this point, it's pretty obvious we are going to have to hit on a guy like that, cause they aren't taking a guy high.

I swear I'm getting so damn tired of this shit. I might dedicate my entire existence as a CP member to belittling and trashing EJ Manuel until you ****s come to your senses.

Athletically? Sure, he's a good athlete. Kaepernick is a good QB. EJ is not. He's a good athlete.
