Do the events of this weekend save Pioli's and Crennel's jobs?

Obviously lots of emotion today....Emotion probably won the game IMO.

Does that change anything in Clarks mind? The classy way that Pioli and Crennel have handled the past few days. I fear its going to cloud his judgement when the tough decisions need to be made in a few weeks.

Thoughts?

It has definitely increased their stock value with their next job in the NFL or the collegiate level and they will be afforded the end of the season, but I would bet 5 to 1 they are gone pretty quick after the last play of this season.

Right.

Peterson only needed three more years on top the the 16 he'd put in previously.

Firing the GM in the middle of a rebuild makes 0 sense.

He made the right move at the right time.

My guess is Romeo retires after what he went through with belcher. Pioli stays and gets to hire a new coach without firing Romeo with the order from Clark to draft a legit QB

Clark Hunt should have fired Carl Peterson when he took control of the team before the 2006 season.

Peterson should have been out the door with Vermeil. If not then, the end of the 2007 season.

Furthermore, I don't think there's anything negative about firing a GM mid-season. Any new GM should have been scouting the entire year (if not for years on end). It would put the players on notice as well as the current coaching staff.

Alas, it's far too late for that to happen this year in KC.

Local radio isn't the problem. The opinion around the league nationally will be the barometer.

For example, around the league, Pioli's bullshit has put the Chiefs' reputation in the gutter. We didn't know until it was too late. Until Manning laughed at us and the only coaches we could get were Romeo and Daboll. But everyone else knew what was up, which is why nobody worth a shit would come here. There was an "avoid KC" consensus.

If a similar consensus comes to be held that it'd be heartless or low-class to hand out pink slips a month after what happened in that parking lot with Belcher, then where the team's reputation is concerned, firing Pioli won't be the slate-cleaning reset button we want it to be. And I'm not saying there is such a sentiment. But if.

And there's never a good time to come off looking callous or low-class, but it would be especially bad timing now when there are going to be a bunch of teams looking for new coaches and front offices. Our search for a new GM could end up like our pursuit of Manning. And who do we end up with then? Who's the Brady Quinn of GM candidates?

And there was only a rebuild in the first place because Clark neutered Carl and let Herm change the direction of the team. Then less than a year after that, Clark took it upon himself to change the direction.

But let's get back to talking about how ol' Loyal Clark is afraid to make changes.

This is very possible, although maybe Scott leaves to after what he has been thru.

Let's hope. I want everyone gone and that first pick. Whatever happens with it I want us to decide what goes down not another team holding us hostage for it.

I don't remember it being like that. Certainly there were some saying "he never had this talent in CLE" but I think a fair amount were afraid the end of last season would earn him a job he didn't deserve. We knew he was hired because he would be a yes man. Maybe it was less than I think, but I always thought the supporters were the minority. There must have been a poll at some point.
