Really? Kostakis? I think that place kinda stinks even among the Columbia, MO pizza joints. I'd go Wiseguys, Gumby's and Shakespeares over all 3.
I really like the wood-fired, I just don't think Kostaki's does a great job of it. My favorite pizza that I can recall was at a place called Anthonino's on the hill in St. Louis. Absolutely fantastic wood-fired pizza. Oh, and seconded on Kelso's. I think they closed the mall location but they used to have a carry-out joint at Zona-Rosa. I'd imagine it's probably gone as well. The Kitchen Sink was a killer 'za.

The Dish in KC (actually Liberty) has great deep dish Chicago style pizza
Happy Joe's, inventor of the taco pizza, up in the quad cities (Iowa/Illinois) as well as St Louis is amazing. Ginos in Chicago wins over everything The Wheel Pizza up in Lawrence. My God that crust owns everything. |
