CIN didn't push to play so I have no issue with a tie/cancellation. I'm just saying if I'm a CIN fan and saw my team rolling, IDK. If this happened to the Bills while they were playing KC I could tell you how I feel. Tough to walk in their shoes as it is.

If both teams agree to a tie/cancellation then that makes this all very easy.

I'm not even sure if the NFL can rule this a tie being the score wasn't a tie.

Both teams forfeit?

It's called their home and family.
The hospital is only going to allow a couple of family members in at a time and a whole team taking shifts all day and night is out of the question. So they will just be sitting in a hotel in dirty clothes, away from their gyms and food and loved ones.
It's also not our place to determine how they cope with this.

That does makes sense. I'll give them a break on the grounds they can't all go see him. However, making 3-7 also seems fair to me.

The other owners in playoff contention (particularly I suspect the Ravens ownership) likely won't be happy to grant a win to the Bengals.

’ve played through…..

Guess maybe the NFL isn’t like the military as much as been thought about after all.

Again; thoughts and prayers to the player. He doesn’t deserve this. But where is the hours of coverage for the others who died, or almost died, tonight? Exactly…

Not sure what near deaths you are referring to, but they didn't happen unexpectedly to a civilian live in front of millions of viewers in the nation's most popular sport, though. That's gonna garner unusual coverage, don't you think? It's not a conspiracy or political or anything that the ocean of death occuring each day doesn't make the news.

If I'm Roger I'm telling the teams coaches of BUF and CIN this via conference call...

Yes, the injury to Hamlin saddens us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Fact of the matter is we have a game that needs to be resolved. Are either of you willing to play?

If both are willing to play, they play Wednesday. If neither is willing to play, they both forfeit. If one is willing to play and one is not, the team willing to play gets the W. I think that's fair.

In no way shape or form should Buffalo get a win.

They need to PLAY. It was ONE player. I am not trying to be a jackoff, but they must play. As it sits, Buffalo should get the loss. This game has/had HUGE implications.

I understand, but the teams mutually agreed to suspend the game. Had CIN stated they wished to resume the game and BUF did not, BUF would forfeit.

Being CIN is the hosting team and does not have to travel, I wouldn't think they would choose not to play. Not to mention they had a ton of momentum at the time of the incident.

I think the NFL should plan for the game to be resumed on Thursday night.

That's 72 hrs to give some time for them to know what may be Hamlin's fate, which may or may not be enough but it seems like they should have a pretty good indication of his brain activity by then.

Move both of their Week 18 games to Monday night. That's as much time as playing Sunday and Thursday.

It puts a little pressure on them to prep for week 1 of the playoffs with one less day of rest, but at least it would mitigate this situation as best as is likely.

If Hamlin's fate is death, which I don't really want to think about, the league as a business still has to find a way to move on in a respectful manner. I'm not sure what that is, honestly, other than just playing the games and working as well as they can with game times to accommodate any situation that arises. I mean, it's never going to be perfect for the players and coaches regardless of how they approach the situation, but they can't just cancel everything as heartless as that may sound.
