I don't like it when cops kill any non-violent offender, regardless of race. It's just that it happens more often to folks that aren't white. The argument that you risk death by cop regardless of offense or suspicion is pretty idiotic. There have been cases where people are killed by cops when they haven't broken any law so the rhetoric of 'obey the law, no problem' isn't accurate in the least. My comment was in response to people talking specifically about cops killing unarmed black men, I wasn't the one to bring up race.

My argument is that when a cop tells you to stop, you stop. It might save your life.

Oh, and Jesus died for your sins, I'm not thinking many of the people getting shot by cops are doing anything for anybody other than themselves.

The severity of offense or their ultimate guilt for the offense being investigated aren't the only salient metrics though.
A lot of controversial cases arise from minor infractions where the offender then proceeds to act dangerously in evasion.
The legal system doesn't say that if the police are detaining you for penny-ante shit or shit you didn't do, you get to flee or fight.
