We've lost 2/3 of our best pass rushers in the same season more than once in the last 6 years. That's what injury-prone players do for a team.

And what is that based off of? I would like to see what you're looking at. I'm not disagreeing with you, because frankly i don't know. I would like to see what you're using to compare them, to make that claim.

And the NFL is a "What have you done for me lately" league anyhow.

I remember when Amerson was signed many posters clung to what he had done 3 years ago too, in hopes that, "Hey maybe he won't suck this time...".

Heres my thing though.

All completely hypothetical, ideal situation stuff.

The new scheme isn't like the old one where a guy has to rely on simply himself to be a difference maker. Meaning, guys are going to (again hopefully) be put in situations where they are allowed to be schemed up to be successful.

Pattern matching on the back end with a hybrid front could/should make guys look a lot better than they did in the Sutton scheme.

I'm not a huge Greedy Williams fan either. I think I'm in a minority there and he timed better than I expected. Maybe it's just an optical illusion because he's a fairly big guy, but he doesn't move as fluidly as I like from a high-end CB.

Murphy's my favorite CB in the draft.
Murphy CB1 all the way. I even like Joejuan more than a Greedy and Baker

Signing someone like Amerson to a throw-away deal like they did is EXACTLY the right move. It was never a bad move. If he returns to form, steal. If he doesn't, you cut him, just like they did.

The mistake was not also drafting a CB in the draft. If they do it again this year, they'll get the criticism they deserve from me but right now, there's not a CB on the market that would be good enough to warrant doing something different than what they're doing right now which is looking for bargain basement bridge players.

Can you give me some details on this new system? I already asked this and no one answered.

Was he asked to play more zone vs man? Because they both ran a 3-4. Do you have some sort of evidence that his assignments were so drastically different?

Or are you just going, "Hey, he was on a different team, so it was totally different!"?

Drafting a QB would be a much worse decision than OL

It just that the corner position is so barren. Unless a huge trade happens our corner position looks ****ed pre-draft. No depth or big talent.

I would sign 2 or 3 more guys on the defensive side of the ball then draft heavy on that side.

Today's NFL and defense seems more about 11 good players and depth.

And again, for the billionth time, i'm not arguing against that. I'm not complaining about the signing. I'm just not going to convince myself that he's an upgrade over Nelson.

I'm stating that they aren't BETTER because of it.
