Talk to an attorney. I think you'll find they only get thrown out when it would leave someone destitute and unable to care for themselves or someone intentionally manipulating assets to end marriage with nothing while they have assets protected via prenup.

You can protect those assets. I don't know what you consider a lot but if it is I would sit down with a good estate attorney before you consider anything. The best advise of course is to not get married. I never thought I would say that but it is true. The nature of your relationship when they have leverage almost always changes for the worse.

Easier option is to have your attorney set up a trust protecting premarital assets.

Avoids the “I don’t really love you that much” prenup discussion.
