Maybe I'm lucky in that, anecdotally, all the vegans I've personally met were cool about it. One of them is a vegan chef. The food is ****ing GOOD too.

Imagine that... a vegan who tries to convert you by serving you delicious food. If all vegans were like that, people wouldn't hate them.

There's a long, whiny video contained in this story.

https://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/201...vegan-protest/

I suggest you skip forward at various parts - it's funny, but gets tedious rather quickly. And the guy's voice will make you want to punch your computer.

Some of it is quite good or even just vegetarian. I like to mix up my food palette.

Pretty simple really. Don’t eat garbage like highly processed junk food and you won’t feel like miserable, bloated fat ****.
Yeah i have reintroduced eggs, cheese, chicken, honey, trout and salmon, game meat and steak. The 100 % vegan/plant based is cool, and there are tons of great tasting foods, but it is too tedious to track every aspect of what you are eating and drinking. Sometimes you just want a ****ing beer or some mozzerella sticks.

Outside of my day job, I'm involved in a number of animal rights causes and see a lot of horrible things that go on regularly in that space.

I don't judge those who disagree with my views, nor do I force them onto anyone else.

I get that some vegans are annoying, but they're a clear minority advocating for something they feel strongly about (trust me - it's not fun eating and living vegan). At least appreciate that they're taking a stand for something they believe in which at its core doesn't infringe upon the rights of anyone else.

Fish lives matter, you Nemo murdering psycho. Have you ever seen a fish gasping for air with it's mouth opening and closing and opening and closing and opening and closing as it looks at you with that big eye ball with no eye lid wondering what you're doing with that fillet knife?!

Have you heard the catfish scream as you remove the hook from their lip?

I think I'll celebrate this conversation with 16oz ribeyes tonight.

Which reminds me...Turkey Season 3 opened this morning, I need to go buy my tag and go out in the morning. The subtle shimmer of the surprisingly bold colors in the feathers and the brightness of their engorged head and neck as the morning explodes with the sounds of a gobble. The rituals of their mating dance as the plume of feathers puff and fan...hearing the light drumming made as they communicate. They dance and circle each other in the crisp morning air among the new grass of spring. BLAM!! eruption of powder breaks the peaceful meadow.

Plucking the feathers and gutting a turkey smells pretty similar to chicken, and it's always fun to see what they had for dinner by cutting open their craw.

That's typically what we do too. Nothing quite like a big baking pan of roasted marinated vegetables as far as I'm concerned.

I brought those up since you said you missed tacos and pizza....

I agree fat elvis. I enjoy roasted vegetables in foil packs on the grill...right next to the steaks or chicken.

I'm generally referring to the hypocrisy and ignorance evident in this thread (not throwing stones - just stating my opinion) - NOT the hypocrisy and ignorance of those who don't follow a vegan lifestyle.

That is, there's someone who has a different viewpoint from you that doesn't infringe upon your day-to-day existence at all and yet there's so much animosity. I love how so many people in this thread know a vegan who won't shut up about it and should die and that paints their entire viewpoint of these people. Equating it to something like - say - politics that actually has real world consequences that *can* infringe upon one's existence: if there's a Republican at work who won't shut up about it, do you immediately paint every Republican with the same brush? I would hope the answer is "no."

But people take their limited sample size (yes, I'm sure some of you will respond that you actually know 13 vegans and they're a cult that should be wiped off the face of the earth) and pass judgement. In this case, that I find ignorant and hypocritical.

And just to be clear - I could not possibly care any less what anyone eats. It's a personal choice for personal reasons and I don't for a second begrudge people for that.

THAT SAID, upon further reflection, I've only met one Syracuse fan in my life - a guy I hated in college. I actively cheer against them now because I figure that guy is sitting there watching the game and pulling for them. But I think I know I'm being fully ridiculous. Not sure everyone in this thread is the same, but maybe.
It's not as if non-vegans go looking for an argument or to be pestered. These people bring it upon themselves. When my bro-in-law is sitting there eating and then gets teamed up on by our family Vegan tribe, then what are we non-vegans suppose to think?

These stereotypes exist for a reason. It's not as if the people in this thread are the only ones to experience their uppity, smug attitudes.

And yes, when NOT talking about food or veganism, vegans can be cool. But JFC, once they start in with that shit they become insufferable.

One of my bro-in-laws went Vegan for health reasons. He's lost probably about 200lbs.

He can cook Vegan food really well. TBH, it's not that hard. It's everything you'd normally eat...minus the meat. Preparing a vegan meal that is delicious can be easily done when using natural products.

It's when they start using meat substitutes...milk and cheese substitutes....that's when things get gross.
