I've been in Galena for non-recreation purposes a few times. There are things to do there for sure.

To keep you from "ending it"....I'd tell you to go down to Marquette-McGreggor to Pike's Peak state park to camp and hike. I'd tell you to go to effigy mounds, mines of Spain, there is a new aquarium in Dubuque, stone cliff winery, and it seems like we went on a canoe ride in a cave somewhere...Ghost cave? Spook cave? Something like that.

One item? Give me the good knife. With all of the hippies feeding birds I'm getting fatter on pigeon wings than when I got there. I'll have clothes and shelter in an hour.

I took an ROTC course in college entitled "Survival Escape and Evasion" in addition to rappelling, marskmanship and orienteering and field first aid. These are in addition to the man skills one obtains living the life I have so far. I can make fire, traps, snares, shelter in several methods.

My biggest concern is slipping pasts George Michael in the outhouse when I need to take a dump.
