Bad form in starting thread. No lineups. No opponent information. No wonder they lost.

Sure, I get that but I just can’t see anyone giving up a Top 100, let alone, a Top 50 prospect for any of these guys at this point.

Maybe Duffy, maybe Whit. But they’re going to be very bad before they get worse.

And Dayton needs to go. I have zero faith he can recreate 2014 or 2015 in the next 7-10 years.

Hell I’d just settle for them being competitive again. I’m not too familiar with what’s in our farm system but when you read that it’s one of the worst in baseball it’s a cause for concern. You may be right about the Royals being unable to flip any top rated prospects but when you’re near the bottom it can’t hurt.

The Chiefs have every advantage - salary cap, revenue sharing, the ability to walk away from costly mistakes because of no guaranteed contracts - and still haven’t ascended to the heights the Royals have twice in the past 40 years despite all the things stacked against them.

I don’t think it will be 3 decades before they’re good again (and to be fair, the Royals were still a respectable franchise from 1986-1995, it really was a 15-20 year wandering in the wilderness).

It takes competing leadership and a guy with a good plan calling the shots.

Maybe. Maybe not.

I don’t think they’re that far out, personally. More like 4-5.

They have some nice talent in the low minors I like. Need to get some premium pieces this year and are positioned to do so in the draft.

My mom and I stuck it out until the bitter end. I would say there was about 2-3 thousand people there when the final out was recorded. It was brutal. It reminded me of going to games when I was a kid in the mid to late 90s.

Duffy has got to be the most frustrating pitcher ever. Talent for sure, but he’s always been inconsistent.

That requires Dayton to actually draft good players. Particularly pitchers.

Except Danny Jackson won a HUGE WS game in STL (Game 5). Threw a CG and extended the series back to KC.
